I'd call and start "shaking the tree" a bit. Seems like the bulk of the apps being processed this week are in the Jan. 11-15th range (myself included :clapping: ). Most of the folks in your week seems to be either seeing website changes or plastic. Perhaps if you don't see anything by tomorrow, you should request a status check.

As per our conversation, she stated to me that they are currently working on the timeframe around Jan. 11th applications as of right now. She stated that they are processing out approximately 1400 applications a day at this moment but each day they are receiving in approx 2000 more. She also stated to me that they have pulled people from "other divisions" of DPS to help process these applications and that they have hired some temp workers as well. They are also working 7 day weeks now until they are caught up and they are offering other dept. personnel overtime hours if they want to stay an additional 4 hours a day to assist with them. I think they are doing their best and it is very frustrating that some people are getting their stuff processed faster than others. When I asked her about this… as I was ALL IN on the 28th of January, she didn't have an explanation for this but stated that they are trying to be fair and keep things in order and are trying their best to get these things processed. She gave me her direct # and told me to give them a week and to call her back for another update if I would like. She also confirmed that my background check had already been complete but until my application was actually input into the computer system, (which it has not been yet), that nothing else could be done with it at this point. So I will try to get another update from her this time next week.

Hope this helps some.

What state employees working 7 days a week?
wow I hope this is true

I'm surprised you got this much info from them every time I call I get the 12 week run around and no more info

I WAS TOLD that the later apps being processed & license issued ahead of earlier apps can be explained by the the efficiency of the person it just happened to be assigned. Some "piles" are coming up faster than others. AND Temp Workers were initially assigned to NEW APPS, leaving perm DPS to fend through the PAST DUE APPS!

It's great to see that a bunch of early to mid January applicants are moving out of the waiting room. It seems that the RSD is possibly getting their act together. I hope this continues for the rest of us. For you plastic holders - Be good and stay safe.

I just called on Monday and got the same old song and dance. If I don't see something by Monday I'll check again.

Hello,

I have been lurking on this forum for about a month, to get an idea on how long it would take, and the CHL website just change for me today.
So I thought i would post my timeline.

CHL Class taken 4/2014
Online application 12/28/2015
Finger Prints 1/08/2016
Submitted all paperwork online 1/8/2016
Received confirmation email 1/13/2016
Website changed 3/31/2016
Plastic in hand 04/??/2016

Hopefully it will be only a couple of days, to a week max, until i get plastic in hand. I will keep y'all posted.

Hopefully my card will show up in the mail in short order, but at this point Im not counting on it!!

Congrats to all that have received theirs, I just wish they would do things in some sort of order!
