Another day, still no status change, still no plastic. I got some mail from Kentucky and from NJ that was sent out Friday and Monday before I've gotten the supposed plastic coming from San Antonio or Austin (I'm in between both in San Marcos)... I seriously doubt that my license was actually issued at this point.

EDIT: I called that DPS number and got a manager within the RSD who is looking into it. She said that was very strange and that I should have received it Saturday or Monday unless the email was a mistake. Oh joy.

Alright, just got a call back. My license was approved and SENT TO PRINT on 3/24. It is now officially on its way to me. She said I should see the website change within 48 hours, but because the campus is so big there in Austin, it takes a while once it's been printed to get out of the building and to the post office, thus the 7-10 business days. She kinda hinted it'd be less, but I should see it and the status change soon. Should be one MAYBE two days for it to show up in my mailbox.

We were both were in the same day. I just got approved today, so I expect that you'll be approved within the next day or two (if you haven't already). Good luck and stay true..... It finally our turn.

Just received a call from a DPS supervisor. Great news. My application was processed and approved this AM and will be sent to print by the end of the day. Please allow 7-10 days for delivery. I've noticed, judging from recent posts on here, that it generally has taking less then less then a week from this point. My {mental} target day is now 4/6/16, which would be 82 days from "all in to plastic".



Timeline
12/4/15: Application
12/7/15: Fingerprints (received by DPS 12/8/15)
1/14/16: CHL-100
1/15/16: Uploaded CHL & DD-214 to RDS (all in date)
1/21/16: Received confirmation of receipt
3/23/16: Received response from DPS (as the result of a call to my state rep): Just wait a bit longer, should get to it next week
3/30/16: Received follow up call from DPS: Approved and sent to print (Day 75)

Website Change: ?????
Plastic Received: ?????

Looks like the end of the tunnel is finally in sight for me. As an aside, it looks like if you've called for a status update (either through state rep, DPS Director or Governor), it may not hurry your app along, but it looks like they will call you when you get approved if you request it. That worked for me and a few other in the last few days or so.

It was 4 days from the day they told me it was approved until Status change and then the next business day I had plastic. I am in the Austin area. The end is in sight!

I called today and got through after the 10th time and waited 40 minutes, a fella answered, I stated that I was in my 12th week and was wondering where I was at in the process, I heard him chuckle when I stated the 12 weeks, but anyway he ask for my license number and stated that I was one of the lucky ones that my LTC had been approved and I would get it in the mail in the next 7 to 10 days.

I am reluctant to get excited but hey we will see. There has been no status change on the website, so the pessimist in me says if it doesn't get here in that time frame I won't be disappointed.

I have noticed on this forum that when they say you should get it in 7 to 10 days it is usually sooner so here's hoping that it true.

First post, glad to be here. Timeline:

Confirmation email ('START' date): 1/11/16

As of today, 59 business days have passed. And it appears those who started around the same time are receiving plastic. Fingers crossed.

Okay, y'all. Here's the breakdown.


12/20 - CHL Class
12/20 - DPS Confirmation
1/4 - Fingerprinted
1/4/8 - RSD confirmed they received everything one of these two days (depended on who I talked to)
3/21 - Called DPS (over the head of RSD), was told it'd been another 7-14 days, but probably more in the 7 range.
3/25 - Email saying my license had been printed and mailed!!
3/30 - Still no license or change, called DPS number again, was told it was just sent to print on that day, it should now be on its way.
3/31 - STATUS CHANGE!!
Plastic should be here in the next day or two since I'm in San Marcos.
