No disrespect for the last remaining 2015 holdovers waiting on your plastic, I'm sure they'll be coming down in the next week or so.

I've been watching the threads go by these last few weeks and by all accounts, this week seemed to put a nice dent in the late December 2015 applications, either receiving plastic outright, or otherwise receiving word that they've gone to print. So as the sun begins to set on the 2015 applications I thought it might be fun start a running post about applications started or confirmed AFTER January 1, 2016 to see if the "Christmas rush" delays were an anomaly, or the new normal.

I haven't personally seen any 2016 applications that have dropped yet, but surely they will begin to "hatch" (so to speak) in the next week or so. Someone has to be the first, so whose it gonna be? I'll post my timeline 1st.

Not sure why it took so long for the confirmation to come in, but I've seen that a few times with the January apps. Not sure if it was b-cuz they were inundated, and I'm not sure what effect it'll have on my timeline. I've not called yet as I am only at 36 days (from confirmation) or 43 days from submission, and I'm sure I still have a few weeks to go. I have a squeaky clean record so I'm hoping for a shorter wait, rather than longer. Looking forward to hearing the timeline of my fellow 2016 submitters.

I would hope approval is in the next week or so, haven't called RSD since last week when I was told my application was being processed.

Interesting. I just called RSD (only waited about 10 minutes on hold). A nice lady came on and was very helpful. She looked up my application and indicated that everything had come back and that it was in the final approval stage and that it should be approved within 72 hours.

I'm not getting my hopes up quite yet as I've heard this story from others, however I did take away a few important tidbits from it.

1- Given her level of specificity, it's clear that the operator can see where you are in the process and if you bg check is completed, in review or approved, etc... Not all that surprising.


2- Your timeline starts when they receive your doc, so for folks like me who didn't get a confirmation letter right away, it's the date you sent them. I sent mine in on 1/15/16, and didn't get my confirmation until 1/21/16. She definitely told me that 1/15/16 was my start date.

3- If, and this is a cautionary if, what I was told was accurate, then if you have an uncomplicated app (clean record, no psych issues) and submitted in early to mid January..... Your wait may not be all that much longer. I'm right at 45 days today.

May have just been a smokescreen to get me off the phone, but there was no reason for her to volunteer any more specificity then you're still waiting at this point. However she specifically told me I was in final review and it would be 72 hours I can call back at the end of the week .

Thought I'd throw another late timeline in: 12/30/15- online app. with confirmation 1/8/16- finger print (identego) confirmed 1/30/16- CHL test/range qual. 2/5/16- confirmation of CHL 100 sent to instructor. I realize it's too early for me to call............. but I have Got recordings :will...

Doc submission of 12/22 which was confirmed last Friday when I called. Only thing she could tell me was that "I just have to wait a little longer..."

....63 Days from date of email confirmation 12/28. If we go from submission date I'm at 69 days.... ZERO legal or psych history as well.

That's crazy! I may just need to call... Everything of mine was submitted Jan. 6 (or 8, I can't recall), and I haven't heard or seen anything. Shiny record, previous background checks for work, but no change and no plastic. Hope you're one of the lucky January folks!

Well, she said 72 hours until approval, then I assume it's the customary 7 to 10 day wait to print and send my plastic out. If all goes well, I'll have my LTC in 10-14 days. I'm at day 45 right now, so that would put me right at between 55-60 days, which despite many of the outliers that are waiting longer, seems pretty much the norm. More than anything, I'm just glad that she was able to tell me that everything was progressing.

I called this afternoon and had about a 20 minute wait before speaking with someone that told me they are still working on December applications. The wait continues.

Don't get my hopes up! : P I called a few times yesterday. I got one "The wait is 57 minutes, you can get a call back or wait". I accidentally missed hitting 1 and wound up waiting for a bit before hanging up. I got two of the lady that gives the big speech about stuff under 30 days being a waste of their time, basically. Both times I accidentally hung up while I stayed on for the wait. I'm an idiot. I may try to get in today again, but I'm worried about getting the angry folks that just tell me to wait.

Hopefully soon, though! I'll keep checking the site and my mailbox eagerly every day!

Yeah, that seems to be the consistent story at this point. Seems more likely that the "nice lady" I spoke to was prolly just giving bg me nice "keep waiting" message. I was pretty much assuming that, but I found it interesting nonetheless. I figure I'm likely 2-3 weeks out at this point still. I think we've only heard of one 2016 application going through so far.

I called and got the nice lady! Not terrifically helpful, but she was nice. Checked my application, said that it seemed like I had everything, said that I should call back after 60 days have passed and they'll send a letter if anything is missing, but no comment on what they're on or anything. So I'm going to assume that they haven't gotten to January.

Mine is January 6th, they received everything on January 6/9 (wasn't terribly clear from what she said), and that's it. I'd been counting all days instead of business days. So I'll be less hopeful when I see 60 days, since it'll be far less DPS days... At 55 days but it's really 39. Makes it sting a little less... Sorta?... End of the month. I'll shoot for end of the month.
