Recently PCS'd back to Texas from Alabama. I previously had a NV DL but it was about to expire so yesterday I went and got a TX DL and surrendered my NV DL. Also added to that my address on my CHL still has my Alabama address, but I've already went onto the website and updated that information. There is no way on the online interface to update your DL # that I have found.
I went to the Capitol building today and approached the DPS officer about the issue. He said it didn't matter what my DL or address was on my DL vs CHL as long as my CHL was valid and not expired. I could not find any guidance on this situation and just wanted to relay my experience to anyone in the future who may be in the same predicament.
I'm also still waiting on word from the Regulatory Services Division on how to update my DL # on my CHL. (I think I may have to mail a CHL-70, but have no idea why that info wouldn't be on the website honestly.)

The DPS should match your new DL and address on your CHL when they issue it. If they don't they will fix it with a call.

To change my DL# I had to mail in a CHL-70 with a copy of my drivers license.
