Wait... wait... wait...

Post by Poseidon5 »

So I'm seeing that most people are getting their plastic about a month and a half to 2 months from the time they get their document confirmation email.

My timeline:

12/26: LTC Class
01/03: Online Application submitted
01/11: Fingerprints submitted
01/22: Supporting documents confirmation email

As of now, I'm hoping to end the wait in mid March, but who knows. For now, I'll just continue to do nothing about it because that's all I CAN do about it.

Hi you all, welcome to the forum! Glad to have you with us! :tiphat: There's a wealth of information on this board, and a great group of gals and guys to get to know.

All I can say is.....please be patient. There has been a HUGE upsurge in CHL/LTC applications come through DPS, and the volume they are experiencing has not been seen in 6 or 7 years. They are overwhelmed and are processing as fast as they can.

When I first applied for my CHL, the typical wait time was 90-120 days. No joke. Many, many folks had to wait 4-6 months because of the backlog. And that was the only reason. The volume exceeded their ability to process. We are seeing that now.

Sooooo, come here & join in the conversations, and participate, learn and have fun. Hopefully, you all will get your plastic in due time.

It is great to read the comments about the waiting, we have gone through it or going through it. I am somewhat disappointed. I sent in my papers on 12/26/15 and received both confirmations on the 28th I thought I should be ok then. I called last week on 28th of January and he told me that I was calling to soon. But yesterday I received a email that I was missing my chl 100 or that it was not signed ? it is signed by me and my instructor ? So I sent it again. Its the not knowing if something is wrong? I completely understand that they are flooded with a surge of applications. I must say that reading all the comments from prior experiences helps me understand the application process.I have no choice but to wait as long as it takes.

Thank you to all that comment, It does help to eezz the pain haha..... :tiphat:

I feel the same way. I got a confirmation email for my supporting documents, but when I call, I never get a definite answer as to whether I have everything in or not. They tell me that the documents they need are the training course document and the fingerprints. Then they tell me they received the fingerprints on 1/13. When I ask if they have my training course document, I'm told "It has not been processed and that I should wait up to six weeks for processing." They make it seem as if they have it, but they won't say "Yes we have that document". The not knowing is the worst part.

Got mine today. Took nearly 8 months, due to seeking help long ago after separating from the service. They'll notify you by mail unfortunately which takes forever. Keep your head up some take more time some take less.

:iagree: It took a long time for my first license to come, but as Joe817 said, "please be patient".
Use your wait time to research, learn and practice so you will be ready to carry when your plastic arrives in the mail. :txflag:

I have a similar time line. I'm right there with you. I called today and was told I'm at least 2 more weeks from even being moved to processing. :mad5

Today marks one month since my document confirmation email. Feels like it's been forever, and I know I still have a forever or so left to go. The Waiting Room posts have been a great way to keep myself busy so far. :???:
