Newbie to CHL, below is my timeline.....
November 28 : Took my CHL class
December 03: Applied CHL online. Printed application barcode, checlist and immediately set an appointment for fingerprinting.
December 04: Took my Fingerprint @ Identogo
December 05: Submitted CHL supporting documents (CHL-100, Identogo receipt, other doc in the checklist)
December 07: Received thru email confirmation of documents submitted and was told to wait up to 6 weeks for processing. if DPS needs additional docs, they will inform me as well thru email.
NOTE: as of this date, I haven't received yet any email/feedback from them so, I'm still waiting.....

Good luck. Practice carrying at home while you wait.

You're looking at 2 months from Dec 7

I also completed my app on November 7th it has been 60 days still nothing, no change of status on web site and cannot get any info by phone. I hear that I have to just wait To recieve more requirements or recieve my license. Is there a timeline they have to at least respond? I have also sent E-mail (nothing) very disappointing!

...somebody must correct me if I'm wrong, according to the Texas Penal Code that covers CHL (now TLC), the regulatory commission must deny and state the reason or approve the said application if passed 60 days of processing.

Finally got rep on phone, was told they are slammed and it will be at least 30 more days, they have not even started prossesing my back ground, they said they received all my paper work on 11/18/2016. I got my app reciept on 11/07/16 what a crock!!

They go by the date they get all your docs or the date you were printed (whichever is more recent), not the date you pay online.

Yes, if you have no hiccups in your past & are total clear & they have received all supporting doc's, they have 60 days to respond. The clock starts when you got email confirmation on your last doc you sent in, if you sent via computer them separate times. (Whichever was sent last) at that point is when your 60 days starts from. If you sent by mailing then you would have to call them & confirm what day the received your doc's. I would call @7:15am or 6:45pm & see if you get someone in the phone.
Good Luck

60 days is a lot of waiting... My question is, do we really need to call or not for follow-up? Is there anybody here got his/her 'plastic', on schedule, without him/her calling the center?...just asking.

Hello CaptKirk, would you mind posting your exact timeline for us? App date, CHL-100, fingerprints & email confirmation date? That would really help someone who's near your timeline.

I don't want to be too optimistic but there's something changed today on my txdps chl application status, I have now option to change my information and I tried opening one of the bulleted option like "Change Address" and indeed, its not just a generic option/menu as I read my actual address details on it.....Yay! ...

Augi, don't seem correct, do you have clear record if you don't mind me asking? 30 days then told you another 30?Augi wrote:Finally got rep on phone, was told they are slammed and it will be at least 30 more days, they have not even started prossesing my back ground, they said they received all my paper work on 11/18/2016. Re: Newbie to CHL, below is my timeline.....
Got my plastic today! Exactly 46 days since I received my document submission confirmation email last Dec.07. Whew! After I came to know that there's a ramp up of chl application volume this past few weeks, I already prepared myself to wait past 60 days but here it was! So, just like what other guys have said it before..."I am now officially leaving this 'room'". Thank you guys for all your replies on this thread and information that you selflessly shared....
