Nice to see all the rapid progress on this as of late. 7 in 2004 and one this year. I hope the trend continues.

That's the difference an honest, pro-gun Attorney General can make.

Other states for reciprocity

South Carolina - May appear on the list soon

Alaska - they recognize Texas

Rejected by the Texas AG's office because of temporary permints?
Missouri - They recognize Texas
Ohio

States that don't have reciprocity with Texas but do have reciprocity with other states

Washington
South Dakota
Alabama
New Hampshire
Pennsylvania
Michigan
Delaware
West Virginia

States that that issure CHL's but don't recognize any other states permits

Oregon
Nevada
Minnesota
New Mexico

I count that as 10 potential states to add in 2005

Any thoughts?

Another article on the subject of ND and SC:

"Texas Right-To-Carry Reciprocity Continues!

Tuesday, February 08, 2005

Attorney General Greg Abbott (R) has negotiated and Governor Rick Perry (R) has signed an agreement that finalizes a Concealed Handgun License (CHL) reciprocal agreement with North Dakota.

For more information, visit <http://www.txdps.state.tx.us>. At the annual meeting of the Texas State Rifle Association this past weekend, both statewide officials proudly announced that a similar agreement with South Carolina would be forthcoming shortly. We`ll keep you posted!"

I just noticed that Washingtons CHL

Does Not Qualify

as A NICS check when buying firearms per the BATF.

That means it is unacceptable to Texas

That cuts into my list a lot

I did have 10 states that "could be next"

I guess I was a little TOO optimistic

TX recognizes some permits even though they don't provide exemption from NICS checks... Florida's permit, for instance.
