These Bishops are totally off the Mark considering people have been carrying concealed in these same churches with absolutely no problems. I hope that there is such a backlash that they will have to rethink their position. Someone who can articulate why this is wrong is able to get an audience with the Dallas and Fort Worth Bushops.Tracker wrote:And to think, when I was in high school we all had pickups with gun racks in the back window sporting shot guns and hunting rifles so we could buddy up after school during dove season.Right2Carry wrote:They were under the impression that it was already off limits reading the Fort Worth Diocese notice. This may force me to find and attend a different Church. I hope there are Catholic Priesrs who will try and talk some sense into the Bishops.

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

From the site:
That doesn't make any sense at all!Let us pray that our legislators will see this as a human and not a political concern so that gun violence can be mitigated through appropriate legislation that allows us to live in a safe environment while respecting our Second Amendment rights.

I don't know what to say and would not advise . Looks like the edict has been agreed on . Catholic church in Dallas is hardcore on this one . You guys will find your way , just study and pray on it . Everything will work out . GOD will help if called upon . Praying for you .

I am in the Fort Worth Diocese so I guess I will find out for myself as it appears the Fort Worth Bishop is following the Dallas Bishop. I wonde what the official Catholic position is on this policy.C-dub wrote:I will be sure to let ya'll know if my church puts up either of these signs. I hope they pray real hard that they aren't the prey of any criminals... because they will only have [good] books to defend themselves with.

The Methodists and Presbyterians are in the same boat, per their national governing organizations. I don't know about signs at individual churches.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

I haven't seen/heard anything from the San Angelo diocese. Hopefully they don't follow the others and start posting.

I know it's a complicated situation , again I do not advise but find your way through prayer , Catholics pray often . Seems like a hard problem but nothing our LORD can not help with . Carry will not get you a pass go/ticket to heaven . PRAY . More involved than just carry . Follow your heart , pray for guidance before you react , lol , coming from a protestant . Again I suggest ....Just take time and pray . Thank you for your tolerance for my concern .

I have not heard anything from the Houston-Galveston Arcdioces. Maybe I will find out Sunday. If my church is posted, I will have to find elsewhere.

Please forgive me for my previous snicker, I meant no harm. And I meant no disrespect either with my previous offer. If I were in your shoes, I would be pretty upset about it. I know it's not a Catholic church, but I think that God loves us Baptists too and Jesus died for us too. So if someone is looking for a temporary place to worship until they can get things sorted out with their diocese, my invitation is a sincere one. Just let me know if you are Catholic and living in my area. I'll be glad to connect with you and introduce you around my church until you can get back to a Catholic church that can accommodate your carry.anygunanywhere wrote:OK guys. It was funny once. Fort Worth Catholic Diocese Facebook page. I suggest leaving a comment on the weapons posting.
