Post by Mahzik »

In this afternoon's e-mail edition, Houston Business Journal has a new "Business Pulse" survey that asks readers to vote on the following question - "Does a company's stance on guns affect your decision to do business there?"

Current results (as of 2016-01-05 @ 5:20 p.m.):

36% - Yes, I prefer to patronize businesses that ban guns
32% - Yes, I prefer to patronize businesses that allow guns
30% - No, I don't factor a company's stance on guns into my decision to patronize the business
3% - Not sure/other (please comment)

I've voted from every different electrical device I own and counting.
Chance favors the prepared. Making good people helpless doesn't make bad people harmless.
There is no safety in denial. When seconds count the Police are only minutes away.
Sometimes I really wish a lawyer would chime in and clear things up. Do we have any lawyers on this forum?

I'll certainly use the information when explaining to business owners/managers why I'm not frequenting their posted business and why they have made a poor business decision.

Looks like we need more voters. The other side seems to be overtaking this pole in the wrong direction.

Need to get the word out. Looks like the anti-gun folks have found the survey as well.

68% - Yes, I prefer to patronize businesses that ban guns
24% - Yes, I prefer to patronize businesses that allow guns
7% - No, I don't factor a company's stance on guns into my decision to patronize the business
1% - Not sure/other (please comment)

Something is strange. The first option is "allows guns" but when you vote, "banning guns" is the first result shows. Also, banning guns is way ahead now!

Vote.. Clear cookies. Vote again.. Clear cookies

Not that I advocate that, but for that reason the results could be totally fabricated

They are in order of value. When I voted, "allow" was greater and was first. There's no number of votes shown, which is what I like to see when looking at these percentage polls.

Not just could but are. I was doing this with in private browsing for the Pro side and was just holding us even. once I stopped we dropped fairly quickly.they had at a group of people at some point fixing the vote.
