Just joined today and thought I would give my timeline as I wait for my plastic to come in the mail.

Submitted Application: 10/5
Mailed CHL-100: 10/6
Finger Prints Completed: 10/21
Approved & Sent to Print: 11/16
Website Changed: 11/17

Just called and boy do I feel like an idiot. Then I start to scratch my head and think, "Hmmm, TxDPS issued my DL, proved I was a VET when I renewed my DL by uploading my dd214. yet I needed to send in my dd214 with my app?" Lady goes, its on the checklist. I don't see it.
I just sent it in. then she tells me that they are backed up a couple of weeks. other than that, they have everything.

time will tell. hoping I have plastic before new year.

A friend of mine took the class in September, but submitted their app and forms two weeks ahead of me (around 10/15) and just received their plastic yesterday, 11/18, so I'm hoping I get mine in early December.


UPDATE: 12/5/15 - Just received my plastic! I think the website changed on 12/2, for those wondering how long it takes.

Called today (30+ days) to find out what the status was. I was told that they had all the documents that they needed, and it would be another 4 to 6 weeks.. I wonder if what's going on on the 1st of the year has anything to do with it..

Dang, I am about a week and a half behind you,was hoping it would be quicker but looks like they are way behind plus all these state holidays they have been off work is slowing it down more too:(

11/30/15: Called today and was told I was approved on the 17th and should have LTC within 10 business days (should be here this week)


A little over 30 days but impressed with the turn around. Cannot wait to get the plastic in my hand. I thought mine might take longer as I have lived in 4 states in the past 5 years for work before returning to TX but it went quick!!

Just note they always say 4 to 6 weeks - in all likelihood it won't take near that long. Though everyone that I've talked to is in agreement that the closer to the 1st we get, the longer the line and wait will probably become as more and more people are getting their licence it seems like lately.

I called this morning. They told me that i was approved and should have my card 5 to 7 business days. I sent docs in Oct 12 but i had a background delay. So i think that's why it took mine about 45 days

Really.. I only lived in two other states, and just retired from the Army.. Oh well, I do hope not much longer..

Today I called and said I was approved and just wait 10-15 business days to receive it in the mail can't wait
