Better Informed Bankers:
Isn't that the definition of lying? Haha. One option with regard to nonconforming signs is to post something that expresses the bank’s support of CHL and/or the 2ndAmendment, but also asks CHL carriers to not bring their handguns into the bank. You’ll have to come up with your own wording if you choose to do this.

Mayor Vernon stated he would feel safer knowing that law abiding armed citizens would be around if any disgruntled, crazed or terrorist individual was causing harm and the situation could be thwarted eliminating casualties.
Eastland Chief of Police, Billy Myrick said he would not have any issue with folks having firearms and would welcome it. The assistance to his force in case of any tragic situations might be helpful.
Sounds like a place that I'd like to visit one day!

Wow. And one of the replies was equally a wow, answering "yes" to above question #1...."confirming" that the "open carry license" does include the CHL in it, and "CHL (soon to be LTCH (license to carry handgun))."Hi all, I know the full info hasn't been released (that I'm aware of) but I was wondering if anyone can advise me here. I was about to get my CHL, but I was told by someone I should wait until January 1st for open carry. Two questions:
1) If you get your open carry license, does it include the CHL in it? Or do you need to get both? I don't want to get my CHL and then find out the open carry includes it
2) Has any info on the pricing, prereqs, training required, etc. been released yet for open carry?
Thanks in advanced!

And yet another "wow." It's kinda like they just make a lot of this stuff up, almost as if we don't have magical boxes at our desks that can access lots of knowledge out there in the real world. In addition, while employees may lawfully store and transport a firearm in the trunk of a personal vehicle, the law does not allow them to talk about it or threaten to use it. Thus, hotels may want to consider including one additional provision in a handbook and/or policy manual:
Employees are prohibited from making any statements or actions that draw attention to the presence of a lawfully transported weapon or that threaten or intimidate other employees, clients, or visitors with regard to the employee’s lawful possession of a weapon.

Re: Texans Respond to License to Carry
I'm very sad to report another bank, and probably another one yet, have posted 30.06/30.07 in my tiny little town.
I just left my old bank because of 30.06.
The branch manager and I spoke about why I was opening an account, and had a nice discussion. This afternoon we had another nice discussion in which he said he would not make any complaint about formerly lawful concealed handguns in his bank.
I reiterated a statement about how law abiding CHL holders were and assured him I would never carry past a 30.06, whether or not I would get into trouble for it.
Sounds like I'm bank-shopping once again.

Texas law does not allow a person to talk about a firearm while at work??? When did Adolf get elected around here?
Now, one is not allowed to threaten anyone and say that they are going out to their vehicle to get a firearm, but that is just common sense.

Re: Texans Respond to License to Carry
Why would a TCU board of regents meeting be considered a gun free zone?
"A common concern among speakers was the safety of the board of regents compared to the safety of students.
By law, the board of regents conducts meetings in gun-free zones because they discuss “controversial issues.” Multiple speakers pointed out that many places on campus are areas where controversial topics are discussed, such as the Fighting Stallions statue, however, those areas are not protected."

Re: Texans Respond to License to Carry
As I stated in another thread:
About the Houston Zoo "bending over" for gun rights activitists:
The Houston Zoo was clearly in violation, and would have cost the city thousands of dollars per day to keep the signs up. The Dallas Zoo with all it's claims throws a little bit more smoke into the mix, but they will come down as well, I believe.
The Houston Zoo having it's signs removed opened no flood gates - SB273, which simply gave the old law some teeth, did that, and it's a good thing. Keep those subdistricts of the state in line and in compliance with state law.
I am wondering what kind of time frame the AG is trying to make decisions on these complaints? It's been a couple of months already. I would think it would take a month tops to nail the lids on these coffins.
