Lurker turned waiter?

#1

Post by BarbarianLou »

Been a lurker here for a while, lots of interesting information and interesting people here!

I've been holding off getting my CHL, because my wife wants to take the class with me. We haven't had the time between my work schedule, and our 2.5yo son and 8mo daughter(which is her work schedule lol). I finally told her I'm taking the class and we can either make arrangements for a sitter, or I'll take it again with her sometime later.

So, application is filled out, we take the class this Saturday, and next Monday morning I'll scan and send in the paperwork.

I'm pretty excited to say the least, maybe I can get some plastic before Christmas!?

Wife got hers in the mail last Wed.

I had to resubmit the proper copy of my DD214 (Did not realize there were copies that did not show discharge status, considering it is a discharge form).

I did talk to DPS and they said the new paperwork was received and that my packet was in processing, that I could expect to see my plastic in 3 weeks. This was as of Monday Dec 21st.

I'm ready already, but still this was a minor setback compared to some!

I called this morning just to "verify all my documents were accounted for", was informed my application had been approved and my plastic was printing.

I can expect to get it in the mail in 10-12 business days.

Really not bad at all considering my mistake with the DD-214.

I should have done this a long time ago, I guess having kids made me feel a little under prepared to protect them and my wife. I never felt the need to cc when I was single.

Won't be long now though. :anamatedbanana
