Re: "Waiting Room"
Started the process on 9/23 and received ltc on 10/24!allisji wrote:I took CHL Class, submitted Application on received confirmation, and scheduled fingerprints on 9/23.
Submitted CHL 100 online on 9/29.
Received confirmation email that the CHL 100 was received on 10/1.
Gave fingerprints on 10/3.
Sent an email asking for confirmation that the fingerprints were received on 10/5.
Waiting for reply.
So it sounds like I'm on the clock now for 5 to 6 weeks and can expect no updates or status changes.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Have you called the DPS Regulatory Services Division? If there's nothing in your background to complicate the process then the background check will only take a day or two.
I called last Monday and they flagged my file as ready to process, they ran the background check and I had my LTC on Saturday.
If I were you, I'd call the RSD today and see if they can give you a status update. Ask them if they can confirm receipt of your documentation and when they anticipate beginning the background check.

I Called on the 6th to ensure they received documentation and they acknowledged that all was received and I didn't need anymore documentation. I was told it would only take a couple of days for the background check and once approved I would be updated on the website. So I was just checking the website.
I followed your advice and called today. I'm so glad I did..
I was approved and I was told it is waiting to be mailed. So Hopefully this week I'll have my plastic and get on with my edc!!!

Re: "Waiting Room"
Sept 19 - Took Class
Sept 21 - Turned in Form online & received confirmation email
Sept 29 - Got FAST fingerprinting done
Oct 28 - Received card in the mail
My status never updated online, and when I called all I was ever told was that my case had been assigned to an agent for processing. All in all about 4 weeks after all my paper work was turned in.

Re: "Waiting Room"
All who have only been waiting less than two months to get your plastic, your lucky. It took me right at a year to get my plastic back in 2013. I have a friend who got his in a month a year ago. He said he had connections!... Then I run across this "Waiting Room" post once again over two years and see that the DPS must have hired some good help and/or upgraded their 15 year old computers and software! (Pun intended)....

Re: "Waiting Room"
I have been waiting for just shy of 30 days for my card. I called the DPS today and they have updated their message when you select 1 to speak with someone about your CHL/LTC. The message now advises that they will not answer questions or confirm receipt of paperwork unless you have been waiting for a minimum of 30 days due to increased volume. I called at the end of last week and was sent directly to a rep but not today. Hopefully my countdown is nearing the end!
Re: "Waiting Room"
Here's my Timeline:
Completed online application: 10/9/15
CHL class: 10/17/15
Emailed Cert.: 10/19/15
Cert received at DPS: 10/19/15
Finger Prints Done: 11/6/15 (MorphoTrust)
Received a letter in the mail today dated 11/9/15 that they haven't received my fingerprints. I look online and nothing has changed. Not sure what number to call.
