Mayors Roundtable

I have an opportunity to attend a round table with Congresswoman Kay Granger. If you could attend, what questions would you ask?

I'd ask if she would support a law for Texas that would be similar to the one Tennessee originally tried to pass.

In it's original form, it created a liability for any business that posted 30.06 equivalent such that the business then had an obligation to protect the customers that had been "dis-armed". So instead of a business claiming that their insurance carrier required them to post (as we have all heard some claim), the insurance carrier would be liable to any licensed individual that was harmed in an incident when that person had to give up their 2nd amendment right to enter the business.

I believe the Tennessee law still has that clause in it; however, it has such convoluted language, it's hard to tell.

Since she is a Republican member of U.S. House she would not be involved with passing any Texas legislation. I guess the main thing is will she support 2nd Amend rights in the event HRC is elected? Ms. Granger is obviously up for re-election herself.

I want to know if she has a challenger? Does she back Trump and want to vet immigrants and close our borders, or does she back paul ryan and allow potential terrorist in and illegal immigrants that drag down American wages, is she backing her constituants or the RINOs in congress?

Why does she choose to have her office in a building that is posted 30.06/30.07?

It is not the building... It is posted on the glass on her own office. I sell insurance with Care'N'Care, who shares that floor with her office. It was that way as of February. I spoke to an aid once, and he said that her office in FW is treated as a "federal building", so she could legally post her office. I told him to find a new sign and that the sight of a 30.06/7 sign made my voting finger a little twitchy and I might choose another name next time.

Good info. In that case I would ask her why no one in her office knows the law well enough to post the proper federal signs as opposed to state signs?

That's my question! Is she truly a supporter of Texas' LTC? And if so, why is she only excluding 1 million Texans with her signage. I realize that not all of them are her constituents, but they all have a voice and a vote.

A Federal building of course does not need a 30-06/30-07 sign. Firearms are illegal if it is a Federal building. I can find no source anywhere that says a congressional home office is a Federal building. Is her home a Federal building too? This all sounds fishy and I would ask her to clarify.

Agreed. There is no way that the presence of her office makes the entire building off limits... but the question is about if her office is off-limits per federal law. Either way, the 06/07 makes me unhappy.

Kay Granger's Fort Worth Office: 817-338-0909

Call her office and tell her. Maybe a few calls will get something done.

I'll ask her in person if/when I get the chance.

Forget about it.
Kay is rock solid RHINO. Through some reading she was split on running for her current seat as a D or R.
Do some research. If we are burning it all down then I would vote for the oposision this time.

Has she ever that anyone can recall put her neck out for us or any conservative cause?

I believe Louie Gohmert is the standard we should aim for.

Any building the GSA owns or leases is a Federal Building. Since she is a Rep, she is given an allowance (by the taxpayers) through GSA.

http://www.gsa.gov/portal/ext/public/si ... ory/21859/

As stated prior in this thread, the whole building is not posted 30.06/30.07. Someone (shockingly enough :biggrinjester: ) in her office is just ignorant of what the law is and has posted the wrong signage.

Remember kids, ignorance of the law is no excuse, unless you are a part of the folks who make or enforce it.
