Open Carry

#1

Post by s9601694 »

I used to open carry in CO when i would walk my dog in the early morning. It would be dark and i would take quiet streets etc so i've never encountered anyone who even noticed. But if someone would, I would have been OK because its legal in CO.

I'd like to do the same here in Texas and with (what seems like) bipartisan support, do y'all think it is in the works or will happen soon?

Thanks!

We hope it would be considered next year. Your mileage may vary. :txflag:

LOL yeah true enough.. And with the change in the law last year a gush of wind, making one to flash his gun, is now an "oops" incident with no consequence (as i understand it)

CHL is being printed ! :thumbs2:

It always was an 'oops' incident. The wording change just helped clarify the law.

Might want to read some of the threads/posts in the open carry section linked below. Not everyone wants it.
While in theory it sounds good, we have had some pro-gun extremists say that they would go out of their way to OC where they know it would upset people. It's always the immature actions of a few that spoil it for everyone. :banghead:

This is true in states that are OC currently... Is it legal to OC only where society accepts it in those states?

With all that's going on in Texas currently, the anti-gun lobby is going to scramble to restrict guns (again). And the pro-gun side is going to start buying more guns and pushing for less restriction on where firearms can be carried. The result will be that very little gets accomplished in terms of fundamental shift...
