Thoughts? I believe that he has the right to do so, but not worth going to jail over (yet).

But I do love this part:
"During one of his protests at the Jefferson Memorial, after the police began clearing out the demonstrators, a journalist asked Kokesh if he had a permit to protest, Kokesh reportedly produced a copy of the Constitution and said, 'Actually I got a permit.'"

Sounds like the guy just wants the spotlight to me. I won't be going to DC at all much less with a loaded rifle.

Read up on Kokesh. He is not someone I want leading the charge on the 2A.

I love that too.

Maybe......and I'm always a little leery of people who challenge authority in such an "in your face" manner, when things haven't yet gotten to an actual outbreak of hostilities between government and the people. Such behavior can foment such outbreaks, which really ought to be the tactic of last resort....and I don't think we're quite there yet.

To me, the perfect example of how and, more importantly, WHEN to challenge government authority with a gun is what happened at Lexington and Concord in 1775:
  1. Colonists unfavorable to the King were in lawful possession of weapons, gunpowder, and shot.
  2. By executive fiat, and without consultation of the colonists, the Brits decide to confiscate these armaments.
  3. Brits march on Lexington & Concord to carry out their confiscation.
  4. Colonists decide to keep their armaments and open a can of whoop-butt on the Brits, and send them packing back to Boston.
  5. Thus begins the Revolutionary War.
If Kobesh had been in charge, the colonists would have marched on Boston first, waved their unloaded muskets around, and dared the Brits to do something about it. That's just dumb.

But I do admire his pluck with regard to his reply to that reporter.
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

I am not making any accusations but I have to wonder how much pressure they were under to “find something”. I wonder what the warrant was for.

Vicodin (acetaminophen and hydrocodone) is a schedule 2 drug. I wonder if the law differentiates between legal prescription possession or illegal possession in this case.

Schedule 1 drugs have no lawful use

I don’t agree with his methods but this is something to think about.

Did they go after him for retaliation?
God Bless America, and please hurry.

They arrested him for illegal mushrooms and being under the influence while possessing a firearm.

It wouldn't surprise me if the police planted that evidence just so they could take his guns.

 I doubt that. They would have known this guy would make the news somewhere. Shrooms make people act crazy.

Considering the totality of the circumstances, it's hard to imagine there was some other reason.

From what I understand, it is not out of character for him to consume said hallucenogenic fungi.

Maybe he's a nut case that takes mushrooms. When in doubt the most logical choice is usually the right one.
