You locals might have already seen this, or similar stories and be familiar with the information and views but I ran across this article this afternoon, and am overjoyed to read about this fine young man, and contemplate his potential for Texas and the country in the years ahead.
As I've stated in other theads, I'm inordinately proud of the vote I cast for Mr. Cruz. He will serve us well for many years to come.

I was initially hesitant to support a relative unknown to fill our outgoing Senator's seat. But he seemed to be the lesser of 2 evils (an unknown with very little political experience vs Dewhurst: an entrenched politico who seems to have undergone a gradual shift in political philosophy away from the conservative values that I favor). I can honestly say that I'm very pleasantly surprised by Senator Cruz's first few months in office & I hope that he keeps it up. When the old-guard GOP rinos are getting their panties in a wad about what he's doint, I think he's on the RIGHT track. I only wish that John Cornyn's seat were up in the cycle after next instead of 2014 so that Ted Cruz would have a chance to establish more seniority. But since Cornyn has seemed to take notice, it's not all bad.

I hear what you are saying but Sen. Cornyn is not the problem, Feinstein and her ilk are, Schumer, Durbin, Leahy, et al. I think he will be less of a problem going forward now that Cruz and Rand have unleashed themselves to great support and attention.

Ted Cruz is a blessing, for the first time in years I actually feel I can trust in a politician. I really believe he is in it for what's best for the USA and the state he represents.

Compared to those nut jobs Cornyn ain't so bad. I just wish we had more time before his seat comes up. That way he'd either have to make a true course correction or we could replace him. But putting another freshman senator in when Cruz would only have 2 years in his seat wouldn't be good for Texas at all.

Ted Cruz is my hero
I sent him a nice letter of encouragement and gratitude earlier this week.

Interesting article. REALLY hope he turns out to be what he seems to be, but I'm ALWAYS leary of anyone seeking public office, as they are largely deeply flawed narcissists. That rant out of the way, I'm behind him 110% as long as he keeps slapping the knuckle-heads in DC and waking up the sheeple!!

His keynote speech at CPAC is a masterpiece, 35 minutes, no notes, no teleprompter, standing ovation to abolish the Department of Education, Keystone pipeline, foreign aid to nations that hate us, stand with Israel, and much much more!
"Do we surrender, or do we stand up now?"

He was excellent at CPAC.
[And Ann Coulter was HILARIOUSLY and surgically funny.]

FYI, I know this is late notice...But Jerry Patterson (Texas Land Commissioner) will be in Clear Lake tomorrow night 7pm to visit with a few Clear Lake republicans to talk about some "stuff"...He is a great guy and I am proud to know him personally, it will be great to see him again in our area...
I have heard a rumor, that he is thinking, investigating running for Lt. Governor this next go around...I can honestly say that if this becomes official, I'll throw my endorsement behind him the second I find out for sure...Or at least pulse him to get him to run anyway...
He will be visiting us in Judge Louie Ditta's courtroom on Buccanneer Blvd in Clear Lake, Texas, Southeast Houston area...I can say all are welcome to attend...
I'll post this info in another thread, but I thought those who are participating in this thread would like to know...
Regards...

There was a lot mud slinging against him during that election and I didn't know what to believe. I sure am glad we voted him in.
