I have long thought this way but lacked the rhetorical skill to express it. This is exactly how I see the 2nd amendment and with this perhaps I can finally explain my position to a few friends on the other side still capable of rational thought.

Hmmm since hammers are so effective, perhaps we should pass a law that the anti-gun zealots have to only use these. That way they could be relieved of the continual stress of bodyguards who area carrying those scary guns.
