Pro Gun Rally (Gun Rescue)

I know that I have not been very active in this board, but I have been reading and lurking for a few years and have decided to act.

I am hosting a pro gun rally at 1801 Young St in Dallas on Jan 19 from 10 to 2. For those in Dallas that watch the news, you may be aware that this is the same date and time that a church is holding their gun buyback. In fact I have leased the vacant lot across the street from that same church facility where the buyback is to be held.

All are welcome to join and Dallas PD has given their blessing as well as Dallas special events office. The lease makes it private property so not to run afoul of any guns in plain sights laws.

I will be accepting donations on site to help pay the cost of the lease as well as setup for the next pro gun rally or other political function.

I ask that whoever comes be professional and polite to both the antigunners at the church and to other rally attendees. This is a time for us to show that there are responsible people that still support private firearm ownership and maybe for some of us to obtain a few more for our collections at a good price.

If you plan on attending, please post your intent. I need a decent head count.

Thanks,

Collin Baker

Do you have a website (or can one be wipped up I? can put this on some socail media sites.

I think that's a great idea.

Let me make some calls, I was going to Austin's 2A.
but this is closer and more personal.

It's a shame a church does understand protecting freedom and worship are pretty closely related.

The lease makes it private property so not to run afoul of any guns in plain sights laws.
So does this mean we can have our evil AR's in plain sight?

This is Texas. You can openly carry your loaded long guns pretty much anywhere as long as you are not displaying it in a manner calculated to cause alarm. It might not always be smart (MWAG calls & all that), but it is legal.

The church is offering $50 for all guns that are not semi auto rifle. They are offering $200 for those.

If you do carry, I just ask that you practice basic firearm safety.

I do not have a web site as of yet. That will be remedied tonight and tomorrow.

I have created an invite publicly on Facebook and there is one on LinkedIn, but if you would like to create your own, please do so.

Would we be able to park on the lot?

As of right now, yes. That all depends on turn out and available space. The lot is half a block wide and a full block long.

Looking at the time frame it looks like a good time for out door cooking.

Quickly made a website. Its a little crude, but it will get better.
