They have apparently decided to stop selling magazines.
OR
They could have sold out all they have, and want the phonecalls to stop.
I hope the latter.

Re: LaRue Tactical pulls their magazines ...
Since they didn't jack their prices up to $75 a Pmag, I'm assuming they sold out.

Been looking for pmags -- have found several places that claim they've been discontinued (presumably by the manufacturer, not the retail seller). Anybody know if they're currently being manufactured?74novaman wrote:Since they didn't jack their prices up to $75 a Pmag, I'm assuming they sold out.

Yes they are.sjfcontrol wrote:Anybody know if they're currently being manufactured?
Magpul put out a statement earlier about their magazines.
We've received a lot of comments about some retailers charging extremely high prices for our products. We strongly discourage pricing strategies like this with our direct customers, as we just don't feel right about it. Those retailers who are buying through distribution, and not direct, may be worried about supply and reacting to the market with this pricing increase. We are firm believers in free capitalism, and as long as no one is damaging market value through their pricing strategy, we will allow the market to correct this situation, as it appears it already is. We intend to continue to produce and sell our products to support the MSRPs we have set. Magazines will continue to flow to those retailers, distributors, and OEM customers with whom we have direct relationships.

To add to the "discontinued" discussion. Many retailers still had new old stock of G1 and G2 Pmags that have been discontinued. When they sold out of those they may have put the "discontinued" label instead of "out of stock/backorder". Probably not the case for all retailers but I have found it to be for some.

Re: LaRue Tactical pulls their magazines ...
I have three orders with Larue right now. Some mounts and handstops that are on UPS to my house right now, some gen 3 windowed Pmags as well as a large gen 2 pmag order. These orders went through w/o issue other than the mags being back ordered.
They are just backordered, and I am sure sick of explaining it to everybody hopped up in panic. Not having to talk about mags frees them to make "assault rifles" before they are banned...I'm sure Mark is not trying to make a statement against high-cap mags.

So why not post something more specific like "Magazines are backordered, and we are not accepting any additional orders until supply increases" instead of the generic, panic inducing message he posted?gigag04 wrote:I have three orders with Larue right now. Apparently Cheaper Than Dirt has gotten out of the firearm biz.

Re: LaRue Tactical pulls their magazines ...
I just got an email from them stating they were resuming sales:
"Cheaper Than Dirt! will Resume Online Firearm Sales Pending Policy Changes
Cheaper Than Dirt! recently announced that it was temporarily suspending online sales of firearms pending a review of its order processing and procedures. Well-known for its ability to process and ship orders within 24 hours, online sales have skyrocketed to a point where it may take up to 72 hours for firearms and other items to ship.
"In light of recent events, we believe it is prudent to review our policies and procedures to ensure we can continue to provide the products and firearms our customers demand," said Chief Operations Officer Roberta Wilson. "We will resume online sales once we update our process and continue as we have always done by shipping firearms only to FFL dealers."
Ms. Wilson closed with, "As a long-time supporter of the Second Amendment, we will continue to serve the needs of the firearms community while ensuring our unsurpassed level of quality and customer service."

lol, that's a bit direct. Got to give them props I guess for not trying to water the message down by posting a paragraph-long explanation that dances around the subject.
Re: LaRue Tactical pulls their magazines ...
I just hope my pending order which I placed on the 17th goes through...

true, but it doesn't really say whether the reason is
1. we're sold out
or
2. we've chosen to stop selling them

Given their reputation, their is benefit of the doubt to be dealt. I'd bet good money that they are just sold out. Especially because of all the magazines I ordered.
Re: LaRue Tactical pulls their magazines ...
Either reason (even though I don't particularly like #2), I still have to stand by my original statement.ghostrider wrote:lol, that's a bit direct. Got to give them props I guess for not trying to water the message down by posting a paragraph-long explanation that dances around the subject.
