Ok folks, some more info for you. - copy and paste of an email

We will meet in the parking lot at 2nd street and congress at 10am on April 17th 2010 and start up congress to the capitol grounds at noon...

Do your best to get whatever banners, flags from 2amarch website and bring cameras' please!!!

We will need to send the footage to the national organization for them to use...

Also, i would LOVE to see as many guns as possible but no open carry of sidearms as that IS illegal. concealed carry if you are licensed is great but i want to see long arms.

Please bring as many friends and neighbors as you can...

In this day and age, We the People need to be heard AND SEEN!!!

Washington is NOT the only Capitol that needs to understand We the People are NOT going to stand for this lie any longer...

I might be interested in attending this march, but which "lie are we not standing for"?

On what grounds? Charge them for what? It's legal isn't it? ( I know...I know.....Just sayin'.)

This sounds like it will attract a whole bunch of attention...the kind we don't need. Whoever is in charge of this stunt probably needs to rethink the plan and consider the what and the who the media will focus upon.

Remember this: bad news and sensationalism are what sells newspapers and tv news. Think about it.

This is a National March.
The point of it is to tell the people that are supposed to represent us that we do not want any more infringements.

Also, we don't want bad press, that is why we are doing everything we can to make this a peaceful march.
We also know that there may be the other side out there, so we just have to be better than them, and video everything that happens so we have a true and correct accounting.

I fully plan on standing behind every cameraman the media puts out there to show the true picture of what they "saw"

What exactly are y'all protesting? I agree this seems shortsighted, but I don't have all the details thus the question.

Also who at APD said they'd arrest people carrying long guns? That subject has been round and round and while carrying long guns is not illegal under law, there are other charges the police can use.

Why are they doing this on a Monday? People have jobs....

Edit: Just noticed the OP's date of 17 April, though the website states it's 19 April.

BIt of confusion there with several marches going on. From what I can tell the national march on DC is the 19th. The state march in Austin is the 17th.

National march is the 19th - only day we could get the permit for the National Mall :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

17th for Austin

April 19th 1775 British and American soldiers exchanged fire in Lexington and Concord Massachusetts

The 18th was the night of Paul Revere's ride

Basically the 19th was the start of the American revolution

We are doing it on the 17th here since some are going to DC and we wanted to be able to do both.

I like the idea of this but it does not seem to be thought through very well. It feels like it is more of a hasty decision somebody made and it could get a lot of unwanted attention.

This has been in the planning for over a year.
I am not the State coordinator, just someone helping him.
I do plan on going, if work will let me leave, and doing my part of being part of the crowd.

I also think everybody needs to bring at least a camera if not a voice recorder and a video camera.

Just be ready for the media call you out and have your answers ready.
