I think Medina just killed her campaign. Glenn Beck asked her if she is a "9/11 Truther" and she said she (and the American people) "still have questions that have never been answered."

Now I don't know what to do, and I bet there are a bunch of other Texans who are just as confused. :grumble

Listened to her on Glen Beck, he just questioned her about being a "9/11 truther". At the end of the interview, he labeled her as such. The problem was she would neither confirm nor deny that she believed the government had anything to do with the Trade Center bombing. Her response was that there are legitimate questions out there that she doesn't have the answers for and has not heard any answers for, but she thinks that since it is a federal issue, it has little to do with her bid for governor.

Her poll numbers may drop a few points unless she can do some quick damage control.

Edit: UTI beat me to it, I'm one of the now confused...
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

She has no chance, and I say that not as someone going tee hee. She's not the annointed one of the Party.

Its shaping up to be Perry vs. White. Wow the two party system sucks, just absolutely sucks. We defeated Mexico for...this?
The latest poll has the race as Perry 39% KBH 28% Medina 24% Medina is up 8 points in a week.

If she catches KBH for second it will be Perry /Medina in a runoff. Anything can happen then

People said Scott Brown had no chance, Jesse Ventura had no chance... If we all vote our conscience anybody "Has a chance"
Well if you're right its one time I wouldn't mind being wrong. :txflag:
These were two separate polls. One should be careful comparing different polls. One was Rasmussen and the latest was Public Policy Polling .

I really feel that this will happen. A runoff between Perry & Medina. Dunno why....just a feeling.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard "I really like Ron Paul, but he can't win..."

Heck, if Ron Paul had a vote for every time that was said, he'd probably be President. He'd at least have been the nominee.

No vote of conscience is ever wasted. Vote for who you want to win, not who you think can win.

Myself, I think that we are about to get a perfect storm. People have had it with an ever expanding government and corruption on all levels AND we have a viable candidate. I'm getting my sign today, not that I get much traffic.

She had my vote until that interview with Glenn Beck! I'm sorry to say that Perry now has my vote. At least she didn't lie about her beliefs.

Glenn Beck is schizophrenic. As much as I love some of the things he's said, he's been all over the place. He doesn't seem to have a settled ideology; he believes whatever he feels at the moment.

Now, I didn't hear the interview, so I can't comment directly, but I have heard him spin things in crazy ways.

From the summaries given above, it sounds like Medina gave an honest answer: there are unanswered questions. That doesn't mean she believes it was an inside job, or that little green aliens flew unmanned drones into the towers that were carefully packed with thousands of tons of thermite.

Even I have unanswered questions, and I absolutely reject the idea that people inside the government planned the attack. I think it's very reasonable to question what our intelligence agencies knew in advance, and when they knew it, and what they did in response. Remember the FBI agent who filed a report about students learning to fly but not caring if they could land? There was another agent who filed a post-9/11 report about how the FBI HQ ignored a field report about Zacarias Moussaoui.

There are many "truthers" who are, charitably, tin foil dingbats; probably most of them, from what I've seen. There are also quite a lot of us who avoid any association with the truthers, but still have legitimate questions about the government's actions before and after 9/11.

I mean, it's not like our government has ever engaged in false flag operations, allowed attacks to take place, ignored solid intelligence warning of an attack, or skewed the facts and taken political advantage after the fact. Except for the Tonkin Gulf, overthrow of the Iranian government in 1953, Pearl Harbor, "Remember the Maine"...

If Debra Medina has a failing, it's that she answers honestly as one would reply in a conversation, instead of like a politician spinning sound bites in an interview.

I don't consider that to be a fault at all.

:iagree:

My initial concerns with Medina were would she be able to stand tough and lead Texas should it all hit the fan and the current administration activate their council of governors to take control over individual state's national guard troops. Today, my concerns were deepened and on a multitude of levels.

Perry will get my vote. I will vote to cancel out a vote for who I imagine will be Bill White. I love ya Houston folks, but I don't want the rest of Texas going the way your fair city has!!

This "Perry" who has your vote, is it the same Perry who lied through his teeth about the Trans-Texas Corridor project in the debates?

While listening, it was hard to focus on what she was trying to say, she did more than answer the question, she droned on with her points unrelated to the "truther" question, and with a talk show like Beck's they only have a certain amount of time and he tried cutting her short. So, since he has the last word, and enough conservative Texans are listening, she's going to lose poll points. No matter what any of us think of Beck, he has an affect on his listeners, and he has the third largest listening audience in the US (according to him, I don't know his source). It's back to the best of all evils.

The reality of the situation is this - one of the following three people will be Governor of Texas until 2014; take your pick:

Rick Perry TSRA Rated: A+ (NRA/TSRA Endorsed)
Bill White TSRA Rated: B (proven anti-gun history)
Farouk Shami TSRA Rated: ?
