Texas Open Carry HB 910 is now Law as of June 13, 2015

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Texas Open Carry HB 910 is now Law as of June 13, 2015

So I've been checking this forum for announcements and topics indicating that the Texas Open Carry Law has passed.

It seems as if I haven't checked enough, because I've seen nothing of note regarding the topic.

http://www.ktxs.com/news/special-report ... s/33958100" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It was apparently signed into Law by the Governor on June 13th of this year.

So perhaps I'm confused, but shouldn't there have been a new topic created by someone when that happened?

Reading threads that have a billion comments before and after the Law was passed and having to wade through page after page of comments to find the one which mentioned such a significant event wasn't quite what I was looking for.

But hey, at least it's law now. (Goes into effect on Jan 1, 2016 as Jmra reminded me, thanks!)

In a few years, people will realize exactly why a significant portion of the population (AND IT'S LEADERS) was 'hades'-bent on disarming this country. This is similar to how many realized AFTER THE FACT why Hitler and the Nazi's disarmed the Jews. Those in favor of 'gun-control' laws, among many others 'liberal groups', will be then be considered traitors. After all he ll breaks loose and these traitors have had their run (just like the Nazi's did) and after it's all said and done, their horrible legacy will remain, FOREVER. The word DEMOCRAT will have pretty much the same connotation as NAZI.. and muslim. Just wait for it.

Funny how liberals and 'socialists' (just like those of a certain 'peaceful religion'), expect tolerance for their MINORITY and DEMONstrated illogical and proven failed ideologies, yet refuse to tolerate ANYONE who begs to differ.

Has socialized medicine EVER worked? Has socialism or communism proved to actually BENEFIT their societies and raise middle and lower class incomes? Have countries in the middle east with 'peaceful religions' proven to benefit their middle and lower classes? Seems to me most of those people are always starving and living in dire conditions while their leaders remain filthy rich. Yet I see next to no one singling out such nations and their ruling classes for generating such horrible inequalities in their populations. Those nations make the poor in American seem filthy rich.

It's too bad the majority doesn't stand up, get heard, and slam all this down.

It's a sad day when minorities who have big loud mouths who support demonstrated stupid, illogical and FAILED ideologies get to control and steer a decent, selfless country and it's people, straight to he ll.

It's too bad more and more Republican leaders are choosing expediency over doing what is right.

It passed before the end of the session and was signed on the 13th but it does not go into effect until 1/1/16.

Many people on here followed the bills in detail from the beginning of the session, all the way through. You will find page upon page of discussion over in the 2015 legislatative session topic. To me, the actual signing is anti-climactic. The Governor didn't even need to sign it, it would have become law with his inaction. It was followed in detail up to clearing all the hurdles and then for all practical purposes, it was a done deal.

The point is Governor Greg Abbott did sign it. As he said he would. That does make a difference.

Yes, good he did what he said he would do however weather we had a thread on here about it or not is not really significant, IMHO.
