Sounds like they are setting up their own judicial system for the State of Texas.

No carry inside the building, but parking lot??? I personally will avoid this area (during that event) even though it is right by my favorite Academy store.
Is a building owned by a school district still considered off limits? If it is not a "school." And I don't remember if a school district is considered a governmental entity that would make property that is not a school even enforceable.

Anyone?

This is a quote from the article, Breitbart Texas asked what happens when there is a conflict between Sharia law and Texas law. El-badawi said most of the time, the laws are in agreement. When pushed further he admitted that, “we follow Sharia law.”

A common fallacy is the idea that the majority sets
the pattern and the trends of social, economic, and
religious life. History reveals quite the opposite: the
majority copies or imitates the minority and this
establishes the long-run developments and socioeconomic
evolutions.
—Humphrey Neill

Can you see the change in our own moral values in America over the past 50 years that were brought about by a minority? (I am not talking race but moral values). Are we seeing seeds of Sharia Law being planted now in the US and what will it look like in 25 or 50 years?

Can you see the change in our own moral values in America over the past 50 years that were brought about by a change from minorities? (I am not talking race but moral values). Are we seeing seeds of Sharia Law being planted now in the US and what will it look like in 25 or 50 years?
IMHO, to follow sharia law would be to devolve. On the whole, I doubt that will happen.

I hope you are right C-dub. I personally feel like America has been devolving already from our founding principles that made America great.
As a whole I don't think Sharia law will ever take the place of the Constitution either but there could be conflicts ahead.

I can't say for sure to answer your question, but it is posted and so is the GISD tax office, where you go to pay your school taxes in person. The CC Center is by (and maybe considered the same property) as Naaman Forest HS. and the tax office is on the same property as Williams Stadium (HS track and football stadium). I don't go to either one. Mail in my taxes and have yet to have a need to go to the CC Center. :coolgleamA:

I don't know that you can make that statement and exclude race issues which are excellent examples of something that needed to be "adjusted" in terms of majority acceptance..
And realistically, there are lots of pockets of minority stuff all over, most of them don't come mainstream.... It's not like polygamy went mainstream. Just because some of the alternative lifestyles (that, btw, existed anyway) have become more accepted by the secular government in the last 50 years, that doesn't mean that minorities sent trends. To me, it says that discriminated minorities eventually get their day, it just takes society a while to get it.

I have exactly a 0.00% fear that Sharia law is going to take hold anywhere in Texas.

I guess I was trying to be subtle and it has backfired leading you off in different directions. Let me see if I can be more plain on where I am coming from:

God Bless America, One nation under God. Our government originally proclaimed "One nation under God" and over the years changed to taking prayer and The Ten Commandments out of our schools and court houses. I believe since that time our morals have deteriorated. I am concerned about terrorist attacks across the globe and now we are starting to see signs of Sharia law in the US.

Did you read the article? It already has taking hold at least 0.0001% and that is a start.

However, apparently one can obtain a gun license in Denmark, but ownership and licenses are reportedly rare. Since there is an event in the planning for Garland, TX, it will be of particular interest to see if and what happens if there is this type of attack here.

The shooting at this event may have organizers of a ‘Draw the Prophet Mohammed’ event ramping up security for their event. Pamela Geller is planning the event in Garland, Texas at the same site where a Muslim group held the event “Stand with the Prophet Mohammed” following the Charlie Hebdo attacks in France.

Same here, in I was in the area yesterday about 15 minutes before this happened at GB & North Garland Ave.

The event center itself, is about 2-3 miles from where we call home.

C-dub does one of the most difficult things I know, predicting the future. Well done. Do you have any stock picks for us?
