A lot of these lefties have no idea where food comes from. They believe it sprouts from the local 'collective' or something. Or they think it come from the grocery store. Like they have some kind of Star Trek device in the back of the store that just produces food out of thin air.

One other thing about the hard core lefties. They keep saying there are "too many people on this planet". Okay, then riddle me this. How do you propose to correct that? And how many people would you have to eliminate in order to get it to a number they believe is right?
Food would be no problem. Algae and other simple plant life is quite easy to grow and an be made to taste like almost anything, even chicken.

Besides, if it is determined meat protein is really needed for long term survival all one has to do is to process it into little green crackers. Protein source would be abundant.

As the Earth warms North America could see colder weather.

Someone please tell me when it is laughable. Are we there yet?

It's interesting to me to see that people don't believe the climate is changing. I'm going to ignore all the drible about reducing the human population, it's just distracting.

The vast majority of the scientific community believes that the climate is changing (warming). I find it "interesting" to see that many conservatives don't accept it.. And there are liberals too (VM: Progressives) - but I think that denying it at this point is simply sticking your head in the sand.

The question is - how much of it is due to humans and how much of it is something else... I think that's still up for debate, but certainly "we" aren't helping the situation.

How much does the climate need to change before people start to think that it might be a real thing? However much that is, I hope it's not too much...

philip964,

Not if you drive a Prius, eat anything overpriced as long as it's "artisanal", pay $10.00 for a "latte", blather on and on about green this or that, wear thick frame glasses even if you don't need prescription lenses, cuz hey man, Buddy Holly frames are like cool man, wear a pork pie hat, pretend you're an artist (performance artist are for real man) while you still live at home with your parents and you're in your thirties.

At one time, the vast majority of the scientific community believed that the world was flat.

I see. So let's discard modern scientific testing and studies on climate change because scientists got it wrong back in medieval times? Makes perfect sense to me. Ask for leeches next time you're at the doctors office.

The climate on Earth has changed since the beginning of time. Global warming is actually a good thing. Global cooling is a bad thing, that is, unless your not a fan of the current mix of organisms that inhabit the Earth.

Climate change is a buzzword/term for a lefty style, cruelty free, sustainable, fair trade religion and lefties get all butt-hurt when some folks don't buy into their religion...

All I am saying is just because the majority believes it, that doesn't make it true. There is also significant, documented fraud in the "climate change" community. Many who have come out and exposed that fraud. Just because his majesty, King Obama, declares it settled science, doesn't mean it is so. There is significant, relevant, evidence that this is far from settled. But for the climate change community to refer to those who disagree in derogatory terms is asinine. Straight from the liberal playbook, when you can't win on the merits of the topic, resort to mudslinging. Gljjt out.

I have a close family member that is a meteorologist. He does forcasting for large companies whose products are weather dependent. He is sought after and very accurate. He is far from conservative.

This is his take one it.

1. Is the climate changing dramatically? We are looking at a very short window of time that we have accurate data for. So in short....even he says we really don't know.

2. If the climate is changing is that a bad thing? Warmer climates in general are usually a good thing. More food, and less disease. However even that is not a constant. What if it is great for Central America, but is drying Central Asia out. It is not an across the board sort of thing.

3. If the climate is changing and it is in general a bad thing. Is it human caused? Most climate change that we are aware of has not been human induced. Volcanoes, and the sun have a bit impact on our climate. So while it is not good to put nasty stuff in the air, it may not be having any sort of macro-effect.

4. If it changing, and it is a bad thing, and we can know it is human caused is there anything we can do about it? Sometimes it is too little too late and there is nothing anyone can do. Like in the case of the do do bird. Sometimes we can change things and make a difference like in the case of the bald eagle.

5. If it is changing, and it is a bad thing, and it is human causes and we can do something about it. What should that something be?

Our politicians are on number 5 and the scientists still do not have an answer to #1. :banghead: :banghead:

Now go out and buy some more ammo cause it is gonna be a cold winter and you are not going to want to go out when it is 20 just to get a few more cases of .45's.
