If you give somebody the keys that sounds like implied consent for them to look around.

If I give them my valet key, which limits access, I am intentionally not giving implied consent to search locked portions of the vehicle.

This troubles me on several levels. The valet company is violating their contract with the customer, and the TSA is using non-qualified "agents".

No, the only consent I give is for them to park my truck and bring it back when I'm ready.
By not putting a do not disturb sign on my hotel door does not give the maid consent to go through my bags just because she has a key.

So say some TSA valet stooge finds something. His prints are all over the car and he is not an officer. Maybe it was the valet. I'm sure their background check was just as vigorous as Snowdens.

Well at least right now there is a large sign letting everyone know their car will be searched so by valeting a car now you would be giving consent.

I never valet my car.
1. I don't want them in my vehicle. Its not like there's anything there (in my family we buy cheap and drive them into the ground) but its an invasion.

2. I've seen valets park. Its like my wife is parking cars. :cryin

3. Now I have a third reason.

I think I've valeted, (wow, that looks wrong),

I think I've used a valet service once, at GRB at the quilt show, about 18 years ago when I was umteen months pregnant with my son and the only parking was forever away and the same price as the valet....I handed them my keys, said "here" and stepped out onto the curb, it was wonderful
