You could try, "Hey, is anybody here from Texas CHL Forum?"Gameover wrote:Alright I'm in, I don't think anyone will miss me from work for an hour or 2. How will we know who's from this forum? I don't know to many people in texas and don't wanna be the weird guy in the corner. Any ideas?
My wife and I had planned to go to Austin, but if we're unable to go for whatever reason, you can count on us to come to your event. Also, I own a website design and hosting business. I can't get you a full service site up and running by next weekend, simply because I already have a lot of other work to finish right now. But if you need help with it down the road, I would be happy to help out. PM me if you're interested in talking to me about it.jotus wrote:Moby wrote:Do you have a website (or can one be wipped up I? can put this on some socail media sites.
I think that's a great idea.
Let me make some calls, I was going to Austin's 2A.
but this is closer and more personal.
It's a shame a church does understand protecting freedom and worship are pretty closely related.
Quickly made a website. Its a little crude, but it will get better.

We could buy some nice firearms maybe!!
Anyone ever tried to crash an event like this to offer better terms?jotus wrote:The church is offering $50 for all guns that are not semi auto rifle. They are offering $200 for those.

Seems it COULD be a way to selectively purchase some good deals.... Or are the "sellers" smart enough to only turn in dysfunctional relics?
I think its a great idea to do this.jotus wrote:I would like to setup a meeting on Thursday to discuss logistics and planning. Maybe at a restaurant in the mid cities or Arlington? I'm open to suggestions.
WFAA, Fox and NBC all expressed interest in covering the event so it is Paramount that we show them that we are responsible firearm owners.
Any volunteers to help plan, message me and we can set up a place to meet.
I look forward to meeting the people I've read about for so long.
RoyGBiv wrote:Would there be a need for a way to check for stolen? How?
Aside from the risk of buying something with hidden damage, I'd be worried about buying something that's stolen. I suppose if you require a BoS, that anyone with a stolen gun would be more likely to choose the no-questions-asked Church offer, but, nobody ever said thieves were all smart.
Does seem like a good way to make a few bucks and keep a few guns from the crusher.
As for the GunShow Loophole argument... If all the BUYERS are CHL, NICS is pre-verified.
The media should be saying "Licensed Gun Owners Save Sellers from a Raw Deal".
I planned on printing a few bills of sale to take there. Not sure about DPD helping. I figured the bill of sale would discourage stolen guns though. I like the idea of CHL only purchasing.el_chupo_ wrote:RoyGBiv wrote:Would there be a need for a way to check for stolen? How?

I am with you in beliefs and know that I am legally able to buy them with my CHL. Wont stop certain media outlets for using this as an example for the info they wish to publish or show.
I wonder if an officer might be able to call in numbers for a quick check, on the spot?
