Re: Starbucks on 2/14/12
Wish I had unlimited funds and could drink two dozen cups of coffee in a day.....that's about how many BUX we have around here! LOL
In any case, I will be buying at least one cup from them on 2/14.

Re: Starbucks on 2/14/12
My doctor told me I had to cut back from my 8 to 12 cups a day, so I switched to a double espresso in the morning.03Lightningrocks wrote:tommyg wrote:I have stomach issues I can't drink coffee without getting sick. My wife really likes coffee,
I'm going to start buying coffee for her from Stat Buck's immediately
My Doctor tried pulling that crap on me. He agreed I could have one cup a day. LOL... I went out and bought a 16 oz coffee cup. You should see that thing...it is huge! He put me on a daily regimine of 40mg of Omeprazole twice daily and a stuff that coats your stomach called sucralfate 1 gram four times daily. But hey!!! I get to have my coffee.

Yep, it will more than likely make them ask questions and open it up for explanation. I picked up 10 $2 bills from the bank today.BStacks wrote:Pay, and tip, with $2 bills.

I'll be there (as will my wife) and we'll proudly tell them why we're there. Even if New Braunfels is the closest option for me.

Re: Starbucks on 2/14/12
this is funny. someone started a 'support Starbucks' Facebook page: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
it's got 12,000 'likes'.
the boycott page: http://www.facebook.com/GunVictimsAction" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
only has 191

It looks like Starbucks wouldn't even notice they were being boycotted.
I'll be there on the 14th anyway but don't have any $2 bills.

Re: Starbucks on 2/14/12
By chance, does anyone here work or live in the Killeen area? If so, I have a personal favor to ask.. Said person would need to be able to take something from Starbucks at Hwy. 190 & Trimmier 2600 Trimmier Road Suite A Killeen, TX 76542-6012 to a business on E Central Texas Expy , It’s just down the street from that Starbucks . This would be on Valentine’s day morning as a double deal.. Support a company that supports us, and Deliver something from me, to my wife from many thousands of miles away.
I’ll cover all costs, and of course your Coffee is on me that morning. PM if you’re interested.

I'm not in that area, but your plan sounds awesome. :) Great surprise to your wife on Valentine's Day.bronco78 wrote:By chance, does anyone here work or live in the Killeen area? Re: Starbucks on 2/14/12
I have a small stack of $2 bills which I've accumulated over the years (I had a great-grandma who was fond of sending them in birthday cards). I never spent them because of the novelty/sentimental factor, but never really put any real thought into it. Now I realize that there was a part of me that held onto them because I wanted to spend them in some special way in which the fact of them being $2 bills would mean something. So, as it turns out, 2/14/12 will be a triple-win for me: 1) My wife and I already love Starbucks, so we get a treat; 2) I get to use my $2 bills in a meaningful way; and 3) We get to openly show our support for the 2nd Amendment and companies which respect it. My only regret will be that, since I'm still waiting on my CHL to process, I won't actually get to carry for the occasion.

I am thinking a nice caramel macciato to enjoy while watching Top Shot sounds marvy!

Jeeze that was close. I was beginning to think my lifer jacket wouldn't make it in time but it showed up today. If it's 90 on Tuesday I'm still wearing it.
