I don't frequent Starbucks but I think I will gather my friends and we will go while open carrying (New Mexico :coolgleamA: ) 2/14/2012.

The way they count their membership numbers hurts my head like hitting :banghead: my head on a brick wall.

While I don't particularly like their products, you can bet that my sweetie and I will find a way to patronize the local Starbucks on Valentine's Day this year!

I support them in their effort to respect our 2nd Amendment rights... but their choice to serve alcohol too worries me. If they do start serving locally, I wonder if next we see some blue 51% signs.. and eventuallly red 51% signs?

I doubt they will ever sell more booze than coffee.

If the price of their coffee is an indicator of the costs of any alcohol they may sell. It would be very expensive for college students.

Reading this thread, I'm beginning to believe that I'm the only one that doesn't pay $5.00 for coffee not even at Starbucks. I don't believe the stuff the sell for $5.00 can honestly be called coffee.

I like their coffee, but I buy it in bulk at the grocery store, and brew it at home.

Their coffee is a bit pricey and I don't like coffee all that much so I'll be getting some tea.

Many college students are not aware of how much they spend on things like coffee, nights out, fast food etc. I don't think they would bat an eye at paying $5-7 for a drink at Starbucks, that would be normal-ish per drink at any other venue.

I am a college student.. we have a Starbucks on campus that accepts the cards students use for their "meal plan." LOL

Either way.. I dont normally buy their coffee b/c I only drink black coffee.. and the coffee at McD's is much cheaper.. and better. Same for the convenience store I frequent--they make fantastic coffee. But I'm willing to invest in a cup of coffee from them every now and then for their support.

I am very confused by this post. I do know that, several years ago, there was one Starbucks in DFW that had a liquor license and stayed open later. Sort of an experiment. They made fancy Irish coffee and such things. But it didn't last.

Are you saying they are starting this up again?

They are going to serve beer & wine in a couple of select markets. Here is a press release from their website:

No liquor licenses show up for Starbuck's in Texas, so must not have any immediate plans to extend it to here.
