Billed as his first public appearance since his release, the event at the offices of the National Urban League will include Burress, Urban League President Marc Morial, former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy and Paul Helmke, president of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

Can't wait to hear how the Bradys spin this ... "because football players with the IQ of a gerbil might decide to carry a Glock unholstered into a nightclub in the waistband of their gym shorts - all guns should be banned ... to protect the children ... in the nightclubs"

We should have some sort of "Like" button like on Facebook.....

... and I never thought that Plaxico could fall lower in my estimation. I am sure it will be spun that the ND could not have been his fault. Not many high profile athletes or others seem to own up to their actions any more. This just goes hand in hand with the nanny state, entitlement mentality infecting our nation today.

Oops, better step off my soapbox now...

Glad someone else posted this. Why wouldn't he work with the NRA to tell kids/adults about responsible gun ownership and gun safety? Really? The Brady Campaign? Ugh! I hope he signs with the Bengals or some other horrible NFL team. What a tool!

Well just look at the source... GIGO. I particularly like the quote:
He told us that his direct, and painful, experience with the gun in that nightclub in 2008 had taught him a lot of lessons. It had taught him, ultimately, that guns make everything worse. And as time unfolded behind bars, his experience helped him understand that once he was free, he would have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children, athletes, the greater sports community, and among everyday Americans.
Notice that Plaxico is blaming his plight on the gun - an inanimate object - and not his irresponsible behavior, poor decision making, and non-existent gun safety.
