Honest, because this is how most of our "representatives" actually think; he's just being more open about it than most.

That's a man who is quite confidant that his gerrymandered district will return him to Congress no matter how much he angers his constituents. Sort of like John Murtha, who called his constituents ignorant, after which they happily returned him to Congress, or Congressman Jefferson, from Louisiana, who was re-elected shortly after it was revealed that he had $90,000 in bribe money in his freezer.

It is unfortunately true that folks get the quality of government they deserve because they elected the folks that give it to them.

When the majority of the electorate is willing to accept criminality, incompetence, action directly against their interests, and even insults from their representatives and return them to office just because their names appear under a particular party's heading on a ballot, the minority who have higher standards have few options beyond either living with it or moving to an area where their standards are more prevalent and their votes will count.

This is not a happy thought when it comes to presidents.

Wow, such contempt for his own constituents. His only response was sarcasm and complete disrespect. That is one politician whose career needs to end in November.

The man's arrogance and condescension are breathtaking...I literally could not watch the entire thing. Surely he cannot be re-elected after such callous behavior toward the people he's supposed to represent...can he?
