If I didnt have insurance through my work, or need it for my wife. I would rather pay the fine than the insurance premiums. Currently my fine would be around $1500 while I currently pay $9500 a year in premiums.

I do fervently hope that our State Legislature and our Governor address this issue quickly and assert Texas sovereignty.

Agreed. And I want honest ones too. People who had the integrity of Washington (turned down chance to be King of America) are sadly lacking.

I would love to start by somehow limiting lobbyists from corrupting the politicians.

I just really hope everyone realizes the way to change things is through the voting booth and dont resort to violence over some of this stuff. People did not go running into the night when the Patriot Act came into being, they should not go nuts over health care. I hope people turn their energy into positive change.

And I REALLY hope BOTH parties present to us what they can do for us to make things better, and not just run on half truths and fear. I think we deserve that from them.

PSL -- Just wondering, at what point would YOU draw the line? If you're happy with the current situation, just what would it take to reach your limit? Not everybody in 1776 thought the Founding Fathers were doing the correct thing, either.

Why would you pay for insurance now when you can pay the fine annually, get "insurance" if anything major pops up since you can't be refused, and just mooch emergency care off the rest of the taxpayers like the rest of the deadbeats. Obamacare is nothing short of pure genius.

What about a blatant violation of the BoR?

Since the Senate bill imposes sharp limits on health-insurance companies' ability to raise fees or exclude coverage, it likely will force many of them out of business. Obamacare is unconstitutional because it violates the Bill of Rights protections against takings without just compensation and deprivation of property without due process of law.

Well, the bill of rights will never be repealed -- but that doesn't mean they'll always be relevant or effective.
President for life? -- Maybe emergency powers? In other words, I guess you're good here for at least another three years.
The draft? We already had that a long time ago, so I guess you can't count that one.
UN on our streets, could happen, or again is could be effectively done without any actual troops.

My point was, problems now are much more than just health care.
Problems in 1776 were much more than just a tea tax.
