West Virginia introduces a bill to allow Virginia sanctuary counties to become part of their state.

That would be 90 counties out of 95.

Did the voters in Virginia just go to sleep last election.

No it's the same thing that happens in New York and California. The high population centers control the rest of the state. The same thing is happening in Texas as well.

And Washington. My friends up there are SO tired of King County (specifically Seattle) controlling the rest of the state.

I hope you're wrong. I did NOT leave NY to come to TX just to end up in the same kind of crap I left behind.

Unfortunately I see far more complacency on the Republican side of the voter base. I don't think it's necessarily that conservatives are getting outnumbered.

Remember that northern and eastern Va. is populated by a lot of D.C. "swamp dwellers/workers". Some may be afraid of a swamp drain and voted to stay in place.

:tiphat: I hope he is wrong too! My new neighbor is from NY and came here many years ago to escape stupid rules. He has his LTC and is adamantly against what is going on in NYC, and Albany.
Do what you say you're gonna do.

I know nothing about the makeup of that court. I hope they are patriots and not the denizens of poisoned ideology.

This is an article from 2015 about the wrangling over the Virginia Supreme Court. It appears that the Democrats succeeded in tilting the court in their direction. I could not find more current information about additional appointments or replacements.

My own comment is that it appears that the Republicans shot themselves in the foot with a defection, at least according to the story.

West Virginia became a state by succeeding from Virginia during the War of Northern Aggression. Turnabout would be honorably justified.

‘Assault on the Second Amendment’: Virginia Senate passes three gun control bills

Folks, we have a problem. Votes do matter but when States political make up are determined by one heavily populated district of immigrants and snowflakes, freedom loses.

State of Emergency over Gun Rights march in Virginia capitol. Wants everyone unarmed.
It's one thing to have a dozen or so armed men show up, State Police could possibly handle that, but if a hundred or more show up Armed what then? When law enforcement is out manned and out gunned what then?
Only the oppressive government who is enacting more gun control should be allowed to have firearms.

I'm pretty sure lawful gun owners will abide but what about the other side of society? Gun free zones work so well.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

FWIW, Hillary got 44% of the Texas votes in 2016.
We're looking over the edge of the abyss.
