M1 Garands, misurp and import bans
How do we get the repatriation of orphaned M1 Garands and other US milsurp now that President Trump won the election?
Same goes for lifting import bans.
They were enacted by excutive order they can be struck down by executive order.
How [abbreviated profanity deleted] we get a bug in Trump's ear about this ?
Should we contact our senate/congress or enlist the help of the NRA/CMP?

Sometimes I really wish a lawyer would chime in and clear things up. Do we have any lawyers on this forum?

Re: M1 Garands, misurp and import bans
I think a two pronged approach will work: get a local rep/senator on board, and push a cabinet secretary (VA? AG?) to draft and put an executive order in front of him.

Let's not overthink this. Whatever it is.

"can" does not equal abbreviated profanity

Anyway, I hope the cost of Garands comes down. I'd like to own one some day. Maybe we can hope for an increased supply.

Re: M1 Garands, misurp and import bans
I have had that thought, sacrilegious as it might sound. But even if none were available in that caliber, I'd probably still buy one in .30-06. I just wouldn't stockpile ammo for it in any great amounts.AndyC wrote:Might be heresy but I'd buy a Garand if it were in .308 - I really don't feel like having to hoard 30-06 ammo as well.

Isn't it a great day that we are even having this dialog?
First time I'm glad that the value of my investments (ARs, ammo, parts etc.) will diminish.

Lots of people are going to want to recover the firearms they lost in boating accidents.

Fortunately, mine were (coincidentally) in water proof containers accidentally attached to a buoy so it may not required digging out my scuba gear. And Joe has decided not to go through with buying some of my guns, and the burglars had a bout of conscious and decided to return the ones that got stolen. They have turned their lives around, and joined my church. Things are really looking up today.

The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

I went to bed feeling pretty good and now I feel almost giddy.
