Just to confirm, to make sure I'm reading the website correctly, as of August 8th, Texas and Alabama now have a reciprocity agreement?

Well, it says that the proclamation will automatically trigger reciprocity but I'm not sure what kind of delay there is.

So should I update the map now, or wait?

Effective immediately, Governor Perry has issued a proclamation that allows persons with valid license to carry a pistol (concealed handgun licenses) from Alabama to carry in Texas. All Alabama license holders will be required to follow Texas law while carrying concealed in this state including age restrictions and type of weapon permitted. This proclamation will automatically trigger a reciprocal agreement. Texas concealed handgun license holders will be allowed to carry in Alabama and must follow Alabama law while in that state.

Updated the map, nice little green section in the south.



One thing to note, NH is now only good for NH....

WAHOO!!! Now I don't have to get a NH CHL to go visit my wife's grandfather.

Looks like the next closest target state is Kansas..... That's a fer piece down the road!

Alabama's web site has been updated as of today, 8/11/2006, and now shows reciprocity with Texas.
