I've been there for business a few times. Great small-town vibe. The town almost has a vibe like Austin, a little left leaning, but not terribly.

Very friendly. I always loved going there.

I'm stationed a couple hours from Asheville and go through there alot driving back to TX. It's a great little town. Layed back, friendly people. If you go downtown you'll find some nice resturants with really great food. Asheville, is actually really well known for it's good food and friendly people. Hope you enjoy it.

Asheville is is definately nice. After you get settled in be sure to tour the Biltmore estate. When you see all of the 65 fireplaces, you will wonder what forest had to be chopped down to keep the place warm.http://www.biltmore.com/our_story/our_h ... efault.asp

That part of the country is very beautiful. I like it because they have a hot air balloon factory about 100 miles east of Asheville in Statesville.

You get a true four seasons there too; I LOVE the fall colors in the hills and mountains!
