Drew, did you notice that my AR at the top of the previous page is also photographed with an M&P pistol? Good choices, just in a different flavor!Drewthetexan wrote:
My first. Pretty plain, but I figure I should learn what I'm doing before getting happy with all the accessories.
I included my daily carry since that seems to be the thing to do!

I was pretty pleased with the quality of it. I chipped some of the finish off when I put the LPK in, but I figure that was me not knowing what I was doing more than the lower itself.age_ranger wrote:Love the Anvil Arms lowers........last I heard the company is going through ownership changes and they're no longer available.
If you do some hunting about, there is some discussion on other forums about the whole mess. I don't quite remember the whole thing, but it sounds like a bad business deal caused them to fold just as they were getting going.

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
I've been looking for a Kel Tec Sub 2000 in 9mm that will accept Glock mags, found it at GRB this weekend and it's the new model that will accept all Glock 9mm mags. Range report is very good, it will go thru a 250 round UMC mega pack in a heartbeat. It took around 30 rounds to get it on paper at 25 yards, I didn’t sit and try to get to sub 1” MOA, it will obliterate the paper at 25 yards, recoil as you can imagine is mild, follow up shots are right on target. No malfunctions, cleaning is a breeze. It’s a nice little carbine.

Not ALL black, but partly...
I just picked up a WASR10 sidefolder, so I took the furniture off my "traditional" AK and refinished it. Not bad for a first try... I like the look

And now the more I look at that, the more I like it; for some reason it just screams "Wolverines!" to me
A friend saw it and now wants the same finish, but in deep blue
Maybe I should make a purple and gold one and put it in my Pimpmobile
I know this finish isn't for everyone (probably for a very select few, actually!) but I'm liking it more and more. I have a WASR sidefolder now, and since I'm going to replace the handguards with a rail system I think I'll try another color on it. Maybe the blue so I can see if my buddy really wants that color. Traditionalists on the AK forums are probably projectile vomiting right now...

Hahah! If the wood is light enough I bet you could manage it. I used scarlet powdered dye mixed with denatured alcohol for the color, but you might be able to get something lighter. The stripes are burned in with a blowtorch, and then finished with polyurethane. I doubt I'll use poly again, probably some sort of oil next time to get a better finish.AndyC wrote:You're a bad man - now you've got me thinking pink and black for my step-daughter
I'll make sure to post pics when I do another color on my folder. I'm the last person who is going to care what the traditionalists think... it's very liberating...

What do these go for at the gun shows?

I paid $299 at AJC at the last GRB Fun Show. A buddy just got the .40 version for the same price at Pasadena last weekend.

I'm really a commie gun type guy. Excellent weapons. I finally own a complete AR. I like the fit and finish. I'm not impressed with quad rails, it's like grabbing the rear end of a porcupine.
