I have two 24/47s, two k31's, 1 no4 mark1, and of course a few mosins.
Get a k31, hands down. if you reload then even better as it is a .308.
absolutely superb rife and great trigger. I think they are all tack drivers.

if a k31 isnt an option then i would probably suggest the 24/47 mauser as a shooter as nearly all of them still have excellent bores and shoot well.

Here is something to get you going: http://jpfo.org/filegen-n-z/smle.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Convert a SMLE .303 to shoot 7.62x54R ($79.99/440 rds +$9.95 Flat rate shipping from Copes Dist.)

This is an old article and I don't know if the guy in NM is still around. Somebody local may be able to do the rechamber?

I've got a lot of Mosins. Also have a 24/47, M48, k98 and a M95. The ammo for the M95 is pricey though. Other than that I love them all. Just buy one of each.

Just curious..... The native cartridge for the K31 is 7.62x55mm. The .308 is 7.62x51mm. Did you mean simply that you can use .308 caliber bullets, or are there some K31 rifles which are chambered in .308? I don't know much about them, which is why I ask.

Haven't seen a $300 AK in a while but would love to have one.

Got 3. Looking to expand with a bit of variety before I continue the Kalashnikov sickness.

Although I've been looking lately at ditching the surplus bolt gun idea entirely, and picking up a pps-43 and a tt33 to match it, both in 7.62x25 tokarev. :cheers2:

how about a AMD 65?

apex parts kit with barrel for $240

https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_in ... ts_id/2567" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Nodak Spud receiver for $85

So I guess $325 plus some rivets and 922 parts.

Could be done with some mags and ammo for $380 :lol:

I went a little over budget sorry.

I still have 5 romy g kits I bought for $99 with barrels and some nodak econo receivers I got for $40. I get bored and I build one. have 9 together right now. MG47 is coming soon I guess I forget how expensive they have become.

An AMD-65 is one of the AKs I already own. "rlol"

Its a great gun though. I'm a big fan of it.

Like I said, I will eventually be building an AR, I have AKs...I was just looking around to see what else I could get into.

Maybe bolt guns, maybe the subgun and pistol...

Who knows what I'll do. :mrgreen:

Me too. :mrgreen: It is not something that needs an apology. First rifle I bought for myself was a Saiga that I converted back to its "original intent".

Shameless AK showoff time

I have a Polish Underfolder, RPK Clone and a PSL. Not a big fan of the platform, more of an AR guy but everybody needs at least one. I would like a real Dragunov but they are way out there compared to the PSL clone.
