I would second this concern. A .22 just a little high (or low) will ricochet off driveways/roads/etc and could be a very serious problem. It'd be a freak accident but not a chance I'd be willing to take...CaptWoodrow10 wrote:I trust that you are not within city limits.
How far away are your neighbors?
Since you said that you have neighbors, I would have to suggest a good pellet gun. The good ones are very effective against smaller prey, and are much quieter than your current set up. A good pellet gun can dispatch small game just as effectively as a .22.
I wouldn't be concerned about the noise level as much as the terminal ballistics though. I don't want any stray bullets hitting pets, mailboxes, or worse.

We trap and release, if possible.

We trap and eat, if it's tasty.
The sooner I get behind, the more time I have to catch up.

I use this: CCI Ammunition 22 Long Rifle Subsonic 40 Grain Lead Hollow Point
Quiet and very effective.
Quiet and very effective.

Had this in my driveway the other night. I live right in the middle of the suburbs.

About a month or so ago, I was driving home around 2:30 AM and saw a fox cross the street into my neighborhood. They're not as cute as big cats, but they lack the potential of being a king-sized lap warmer after you calm them down . Seriously, though, I'm glad that most of the parents around here don't let their kids play outside unsupervised. I don't have much to fear from a fox that size, but it could do some real damage to a little kid who doesn't know better.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.
