EDIT: I forgot to ask, if the sight is the problem, how does one go about turning it to fix it?
The chamber measurements are within specs as far as I can tell. I cant get my micrometer far enough in to measure the front where it narrows down, but the back half is good. When I first got the rifle it was full of cosmoline, and I didnt get it all out, and that caused problems, but the rounds were stovepiping, not failing to eject. I have been shooting the laquer coated Wolf stuff through it, and thought along the same lines as you in that maybe it was gummed up. Using fine Scotchbrite and a Dremmel, I polished the chamber as best as I could, its hard to get into the whole chamber due to the extreme angle. Anyhow it still locks up. Im thinking of swaping parts with the other one to see if I can narrow it down to a particular part, but the canted front sight is still bothering me, as I cant adjust windage enough to overcome it using the iron sights. Its actually a good shooter accuracy wise when using the scope.Cosmo 9 wrote:I am by no means an AK guru but the fact that you just can't grab the handle and pull sounds like it's not a gas issue. A buddie of mine had an old Garand that the chamber was worn out on. Mil. surplus would shoot fine but over the counter rounds would do the same thing as you are saying because the spent caseing was expanding and sticking in the chamber.
Keep us posted on what you find out as I have a wasr and may run into the same thing down the road.
