AEA, I didn't mean to upset you. I do not go on the board except every few days. You should contact Brownell's. I did this over 25 years AGO AND DON'T REMEMBER which one. Brownell's will be able tell you; that is where I got mine from in 1982.

No problem and I was not upset, just wanted to get you back to see if you knew the number.
I will contact Marbles and/or Brownell's tomorrow and find out which one I need.
Thanks for the response!

Re: Marlin 1894C in .357 Mag
IIRC, Marlin has used three types of front sight mountings: dovetail in the barrel, ramp mounted without side notches for hood, and ramp mounted with convex side notches for hood.
There isn't much you can do if your front sight is mounted in a dovetail in the barrel itself.
If your sight is mounted in the un-notched ramp, you could inquire about replacing it with one that does have the notches. That, of course, requires removing and resetting the sight. The right diameter Dremel cutting wheel might successfully cut the grooves and elmininate drifting the sight in and out.

I love my scout 45-70. Fun fun guns. And that 45-70 put down an 800lb buffalo at 100 yards. Nice.
