Looking to buy an AR

Does anyone know where in the Houston and surrounding area, they have some in stock. I am looking to buy within two weeks and i want to know if it would be better to order and have it sent to an FFL or find one locally. Thanks in advance for your help.

I just bought a brand new Bushmaster ORC off the shelf of Academy (Pearland)for $999.99 (plus tax of course) the Sunday before last (1/25/09).

They also had an M&P 15A for $1099.99 and had just sold 2 Sig 556's (don't know how much), and a SOCOM on the shelf for $1999.99.

Just waiting on the arrival of my rear-sight to take my self-assembled Doublestar/Del-Ton flattop mutt out for its first stretch. Should be fun - I'm more of a 7.62 guy and have never owned a mouse-gun before, but in these times, I figured it was past due.

Choosing the parts and snapping it together was a lot of fun and highly recommended - the wait for the parts themselves was less so

I wish we would have another gun show around here. :( I was out of town the last time Lubbock had one and from what I have been told the next one won't be until May. :(

If anyone is interested, we might still have LMT Defenders and the new Daniel Defense M4 in stock. The Daniel Defense is a very nice out of the box ready to go AR. They seem to be of excellent quality for a commercially-produced gun.
