Didn't he live in Indonesia? Where they have, um, I don't know... Koranic studies that everyone takes? Just a guess, I really don't know but I suspect that is the case. As to his religion, I am of the opinion that he is not religious and took up that church because he thought it would be politically advantageous (or so he thought...) But again that's just a guess.

I don't know about Marxist, but I don't think Socialist would be that far off. When people go around talking about Marxism I think of the ideas in the Communist Manifesto which I don't think he-or anyone else, for that matter- supports. But people think Communism/Marxism sound scarier than Socialism so they talk up the former. Would you want to be living in Britain today? I think Socialism is scary enough.

See her quote in the video I linked above. That is not yellow journalism. That's a fact. Her words. Her mouth. She is a communist. She practically admits it herself, right there on video. If she's not a communist, then she's an idiot of the first water to say the things she said.

She is also incidentally, one of Obama's biggest supporters. She doesn't just represent him, she is him.

Not sure. Technically communism does away with religion, right after disarming the citizens. Frankly, he is a ghost. I think what scares me is I have not a clue who he is. As much as I dislike Clinton, I think I have her figured out. Muslim or Commie...how do you pick the better?
I've no objection to his color. On the topic of black, I'd take JC Watts over Mccain every day of the week! The race card is such a weak argument. If you ask a black person who freed the slaves, they always answer democrats (IME) I suppose they forget bush appointed more blacks to positions of power than any other president.

No. Got an email from a friend in sunderland yesterday who is a huge supporter of the labour party. He wrote about the country moving towards conservatives, and much of it is related to the influx of islamo-extremists. England is changing, that is to come.

Yes and hence "Maxine Waters and Communism" would have been an appropriate title for this thread. It has nothing to do with Obama, at least not directly. If you want to find stuff that shows Obama has Socialist tendencies, it's not that hard, and that would be something that would be worth talking about and criticizing him about. Or if you want to bring up the fact that he wants the federal government to ban CHLs or how he thinks the second amendment is about target shooting and hunting and how he is not opposed to the idea of prosecuting people in Chicago who defend themselves using pre-ban handguns these would also be worth talking about as these are legitimate, important, factual issues that most of us here (Amber excepted) would agree make him impossible to vote for. I realize that my link has nothing to do with the thread title, and you're right, there are plenty of good reasons to kick Obama's can down the road without any distractions from the nutter wing of the Democratic party. It's a Pavlovian thing. I used to live in Southern California - most of my life, in fact - and unless you've had to live with her nuttiness on a daily basis, it is difficult to understand just how seeing the words "Maxine Waters," or hearing her deranged commie voice, I have to bark, that's all. Even most California Democrats kind of roll their eyes if you bring up Maxine Waters. She's an embarrassment to them. Just look at the expressions on the faces of the two congresspersons to her right when she starts her screed.

Her district is mostly Sout Central Los Angeles. She is also famous for sayng the LA riots were quite justified. Since you mentioned re-election...lets all remember the re-election of Marion Barry.

She keeps getting elected because she represents a specific district, with specific problems, only one of many districts located in a specific large city, and a district with an "aggrieved" population which has an enormous propensity to blame their problems on anything but themselves. You've only got to drive a few miles in any one direction to be outside of her district, where you couldn't vote for her even if you wanted to, and still have to live with the impact of her lunacy.

For instance, per the video, she proposes to nationalize the oil industry. There are refineries (and their jobs) located just outside of her district. Now, on her own, she lacks the political heft to make it happen. But in the current economic climate, with fuel prices being what they are, and with Congress's inability to draft sensible energy legislation (if it should even be legislated at all), it would be a time like this that a movement to nationalize the oil industry could gain momentum. And if it did, you can bet every last one of the federal aid dollars that pour into her district that Maxine Waters would be maneuvering to become one of the decision makers in the process. Now, tell the (union) blue collar workers who are employed at the refineries just outside of her district, and who may well be Democrats themselves, and who may well live outside of her district and cannot vote for her, that Maxine Waters' policies have no impact on their jobs or livelihood.
