I don't shop there, they always seem to be more expensive than Academy for the same stuff
This doesn't surprise me about them.

I seem to recall they stopped selling AR sporting rifles after one of the prior gun free victim zone mass murder incidents. This is Dick's 2.0. They are overpriced.

And I'm in my program "boycott Dic'ks Sporting Goods" version 2.0, too. They don't have anything that I even want to look at.

I seem to recall they already did this after Newtown.
The Dick's near me consists of three different sections in one location adjoining each other with with no physical separation. You can walk from one end to the other from right to left - Golf World, Dick's and Field and Stream. There are no firearms in the Dick's area only in the Field and Stream section. F&S had an entire section of Modern Sporting Rifles and Defensive/Tactical Shotguns a couple of months ago. F&S no longer has no MSR's on their website, but still have the Ruger Mini-14.

Dick's is always overpriced. Never purchased a gun from them anyway.

There are far better places to buy firearms. It is their business decision to make, but I suspect given their selection and prices, they didn't make all that much revenue from firearms anyway. Other retailers will gladly take any additional business.

They should shut down the whole "the lodge" thing. It is a farce. No more money at Dicks. They own Field and Stream too.

Hypocrites! IF you truly support the mass hysteria then quit selling ALL firearms, ammunition and supplies in ALL stores you own. Go all in, quit trying to straddle the fence.
I haven't bought anything at Dick's for years. Overpriced, rude salespeople, etc. Certainly won't darken the door of any Field and Stream stores either.

This is the horse hockey they are now saying:
"Beginning today, DICK’S Sporting Goods is committed to the following:
- We will no longer sell assault-style rifles, also referred to as modern sporting rifles. We had already removed them from all DICK’S stores after the Sandy Hook massacre, but we will now remove them from sale at all 35 Field & Stream stores.
- We will no longer sell firearms to anyone under 21 years of age.
- We will no longer sell high capacity magazines.
- We never have and never will sell bump stocks that allow semi-automatic weapons to fire more rapidly.
At the same time, we implore our elected officials to enact common sense gun reform and pass the following regulations:
- Ban assault-style firearms
- Raise the minimum age to purchase firearms to 21
- Ban high capacity magazines and bump stocks
- Require universal background checks that include relevant mental health information and previous interactions with the law
- Ensure a complete universal database of those banned from buying firearms
- Close the private sale and gun show loophole that waives the necessity of background checks"
Guess where I will never shop again, even if someone pays me to do so...

I've never shopped there, but I say good riddance, maybe those that did will support their local dealer now.

wear
In the spirit of the announcement, Dick's is running a 10% off all "Safe Spaces" and "NO Guns Allowed" signage.

I haven't darkened the door of a Dick's since their original round of appeasement, which if memory serves even predates Newton.

I’m not sure they understand who their audience is for the Field and Stream brand...

There's an oxymoron...
