Hey DFW people, especially north side
I'm sure some of you have checked out our Houston breakfast thread. There's been talk about DFW doing the same thing. So, what say you? Can you guys figure out a day/time/place to have a monthly breakfast get together? I'll tell you, you'll have to get serious about it to come up with as good food and great time. So there's the challenge. Have at it.
It's fine if you disagree. I can't force you to be correct.

Re: Hey DFW people, especially north side
I like the idea especially if it could be arranged somewhere between Fort Worth and that other city that's about 25 miles to the east.

I would be interested as well. There is a great restaurant in Mansfield called Our Place that is really good. The only problem is getting in as it is always busy and only open 6-3. They serve those home cooked meals and portions.

I'd be interested as well. I live in the Mid-Cities area of DFW (Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine, Keller, Collyville, Arlington, etc.) Since it is midway between Dallas and Ft. Worth, it would be equidistant for members in all parts of the DFW area to travel to. Hundreds of restaurants to choose from also. Of course it would be very easy for me too

You beat me to it! THANK YOUUUU!! I'm all for it! I think it will need to be somewhat centralized, so more people can do the drive, without having to stop for gas.LDB415 wrote:I'm sure some of you have checked out our Houston breakfast thread. UNLESS..... we decide to do a West DFW quadrant, and an EAST DFW quadrant. Lots of people in both areas. I'm up for that as well.

joe817, As spread out as DFW is it may be a good idea to divide it as you said. Ours is the South quadrant of Houston, although anyone is welcome. BTW I don't think LDB415 would mind me extending an invitation to any of you DFW TxCHL members to join us if you happen to be down this way when we meet. I've been to several get togethers in your neck of the woods; had lunch on one occasion and a big picnic on another.joe817 wrote:You beat me to it! THANK YOUUUU!! I'm all for it! Re: Hey DFW people, especially north side
So you guys are off to a good start. Which Saturday are you guys going to try for, 1, 2, 3, or 4? What's the best breakfast in mid-cities? That might be your best option for the first meet and if you get enough guys you might figure out east and west groups then. I hope you guys get it worked out. It is a GREAT time. You'll be glad you did. And yes, any of you guys around here the first Friday of the month should definitely join us.

Re: Hey DFW people, especially north side
If I may suggest, perhaps the location can be selected based on a business that is known to be particularly 2A friendly, if there is a known place that meets the criteria. I am aware of several businesses that have taken the time to put up signs indicative of their support and welcome for licensees and I've seen posts discussing a few establishments that offer discounts or at least make visible note of welcome for licensees, however, I cannot think of any restaurants in the area. Does anyone in the area know of any within the desired meeting area(s)? It seems that if there are, the position that they have taken may warrant prioritized placement in the list of locations for consideration.

Re: Hey DFW people, especially north side
Where would we set the boundaries? Off-hand I'm thinking Plano/Frisco/Little Elm/McKinney/Allen/Richardson/Lewisville/Carrollton/Prosper/Flower Mound/Grapevine/The Colony/North Dallas/Farmer's Branch. Probably a few I'm not thinking of.
I'm in.
I'm in.

That is an excellent suggestion. I'm sure someone will know of places to suggest.rbftfire wrote:If I may suggest, perhaps the location can be selected based on a business that is known to be particularly 2A friendly, if there is a known place that meets the criteria. Re: Hey DFW people, especially north side
The OP stated "especially north side." Being west of the big airport I think Esparanzas for breakfast. But....
If there is not enough support for independent Tarrant and Dallas County meet ups, I would propose a location along the Grapevine south along 360 area.

Re: Hey DFW people, especially north side
brunch? I'd have to get up awfully early to make breakfast. I'm 20 miles from nowhere. I'm on the edge of the internet. risky's @Stockyard station serves a ho-hum eggs, hasbrowns, bacon and toast. their coffee is good.
Re: Hey DFW people, especially north side
I'd be in for a Tarrant/Denton County meeting spot. Dallas/Colin County is the other side of the world...
