I like those. What's so funny about the first opera video is those words are what she is actually singing!

I didn't realize that. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Jeez, I didn't catch that. I assumed it was something like a Monty Python overdub. If that's what she's really singing, that is really really funny.

It's a Rainer Hersch concert. Hersch is a British conductor, actor, writer and comedian and is known for his comical take on classical music. He has a bunch of funny stuff in all varieties of music and styles. You can find a bunch of his stuff on YouTube on his fan channel http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVw28wsZzjZkW240cKQ1nUw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here is an oompa band doing Bohemian Rhapsody

Thread drift, but a friend of mine said her 7 year-old daughter was singing Pat Benetar's 'I Love Rock and Roll' the other day and her lyrics were 'I love rock and roll, so put another dime in the juice box baby!' :smilelol5:

I will bet most kids these days have no idea what a jukebox is. :headscratch

As a younger guy, I turned up my nose at opera.

No longer...

Yes, some opera is dreadful.

So too, is some rock, country, fill in the blank...

Look into opera, surprise yourself, you might find something you like.

I liked "country music."

And then they invented Taylor Swift. :ack:

My "portable mp3 player" gets a lot of use these days.

Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. Leather, cigarettes, chains, kinda growls when she sings.....
... Pat Benatar is a classically trained mezzo-soprano that sang 80's girl power pop/rock. She left Juilliard for her boyfriend/future husband and when they divorced a few years later, continued to use his name professionally rather than reverting to her maiden name......Andrzejewski.
