It's an alternative for low light, short range use. You put the EOTech on backwards so the little red dot centers in your eyeball, then line that up with the peep sight on the rear and on to the front sight, for a greater sight radius.
It's in the manual, somewhere, I think.
FBI... no fooling? At least they have the ultra cool camo's.

Ha! I bet he thinks whoever designed the buttons on the back instead of the front are morons! Too funny! I first saw that before reading your comment and was like, wth?! Lol

This is the government we are supposed to believe needs these weapons more than us, because we aren't 'professional enough' to use them.

I worked in Mohawk several times as a phone man. I got "trapped" in the basement of a bank at the corner of Albany St, Mohawk St., and Main in Herkimer, just a miile or so from where this took place. The bank closed while I was in the basement doing telephone work and they forgot I was there, and locked me in. I got to meet a couple of the local cops, and they were pretty nice, except they were kind of suspicious.

He probably heard that bad guys are terrified when they see that red dot.

I thought maybe this was an optical illusion, so I used Preview to flip the picture around and invert it. Nope. No matter which way you look at the picture, the scope is on backwards. Maybe the guy knows something we don't. Maybe someone should try it.

I can't tell what exact model Eotech this is but based on mine, which I have on my Sig 716, there is no point in flippng. I have the Eotech 553 black.

When you flip it 180, it does make it a very low light dot. Sitting in my den, I couldn't see it and had to move to a dark room. On my Eotech, I don't have a clue why you would do this. The units have brightness adjustments and can start up in dim mode or even in NVG. Plus, it just looks funny. I can't figure it out and my simple Bing searching didn't bring up anything useful.
The only thing I can think of is that his unit does not have an NVG mode so flipping it dims it enough so that he doesn't blow out his NVGs and he uses iron for daytime sighting.

Jallen, do you have a source for information backing that up? I can't seem to find anything that goes along with this. Just curious.
Thank you.
