Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
NBC deliberately altered 911 recording for airplay to make Zimmerman sound like a racist! They are caught red handed. They promise an "internal investigation," but in my book the persons who did this should be imprisoned for a very VERY dangerous slander that has led the nation to the brink of racial violence.

NBC to do ‘internal investigation’ on Zimmerman segment
By Erik Wemple
NBC is criminally involved here. This isn't mere negligence. This is a deliberate attempt to drive the narrative in a certain direction by altering the facts of the story. People are calling for Zimmerman's arrest, DEAD or alive, as a racial profiling murderer based on this altered 911 recording. If a hair on Zimmerman's head is harmed, NBC is directly at fault, and somebody is going to have to fry for this.NBC told this blog today that it would investigate its handling of a piece on the “Today” show that ham-handedly abridged the conversation between George Zimmerman and a dispatcher in the moments before the death of Trayvon Martin. A statement from NBC:Great news right there. As exposed by Fox News and media watchdog site NewsBusters, the “Today” segment took this approach to a key part of the dispatcher call:“We have launched an internal investigation into the editorial process surrounding this particular story.”Here’s how the actual conversation went down:Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black. The difference between what “Today” put on its air and the actual tape? Complete: In the “Today” version, Zimmerman volunteered that this person “looks black,” a sequence of events that would more readily paint Zimmerman as a racial profiler. In reality’s version, Zimmerman simply answered a question about the race of the person whom he was reporting to the police. Nothing prejudicial at all in responding to such an inquiry.Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black.
In an appearance on Fox News’s “Hannity,” Brent Bozell, president of the conservative Media Research Center, called this elision on the part of ”Today” an “all-out falsehood” — not just a distortion or misrepresentation.
And it’s a falsehood with repercussions. Much of the public discussion over the past week has settled on how conflicting facts and interpretations call into question whether Zimmerman acted justifiably or criminally. That’s a process that’ll continue. But one set of facts in the is ironclad, and that’s the back-and-forth between Zimmerman and the dispatcher. To portray that exchange in a way that wrongs Zimmerman is high editorial malpractice well worthy of the investigation that NBC is now mounting.
This is intolerable!

You guys know neither will face any consequences as long as NBC continues to shill for Obama and the NBP thugs continue to intimidate voters to help Obama get reelected.

That's why the very special prosecutor not risking a grand jury says a lot about the actual evidence in this case.WildBill wrote:"Even a modestly competent district attorney can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich." - Sol Wachtler, former Chief Judge of New York State Court of Appeals.baldeagle wrote:You do know the old aphorism, "A grand jury would indict a ham sandwich"? NBC should've known better (for that matter everyone who's given more than a quarter second's thought to becoming a journalist should know better). Regardless of whether or not his was a justified shooting, I'm pretty sure Zimmerman has a strong case against them for some form of criminal defamation (FL Law § 836.01 - 836.11}).
The New Black Panthers, though... Putting a price on someone's head is very very extremely illegal. I wonder why they haven't been arrested yet? (Ok, that's not true... I'm pretty sure it's because FL officials probably fear mass riots.)

Journalists don't run NBC. Besides, ratings are more important that ethics.Dave2 wrote:NBC should've known better (for that matter everyone who's given more than a quarter second's thought to becoming a journalist should know better).

You and I know integrity left the journalism profession long ago. I am sure everyone remembers the falsified papers concerning President Bush's military service. This is just another attempt by the media to control public opinion. Nothing will be done to punish the hacks at NBC.
There was a time journalists did not make an issue of the fact FDR was crippled. As a matter of fact, the media treated his condition with such sensitivity, many people were not even aware the president could not walk. Those days are long gone.
God Bless America, and please hurry.

I wonder if ABC did the same to the video of Zimmerman at the police station. The Annoyed Man wrote:NBC deliberately altered 911 recording for airplay to make Zimmerman sound like a racist! I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

That's not the first time that NBC fabricated a "crime" where there was none. Remember the NBC dateline "to catch a predator" series with Chris Hansen? Those "child molesters" were monsters to be sure, BUT they have committed no crime. The "child" they had a "date" with was actually an adult actress. So, where's the crime?
Therefore, I'm proud to live in North Texas where Collin County Assistant District Attorney Greg Davis said the cases in Collin County were dropped after NBC dateline's "perverted justice" team failed to provide enough usable evidence. Sloppy police with zero regard for constitutional rights will work with the NBC dateline team while real police will find real evidence before arresting anyone. Hey, maybe that's why Collin County has one of the lowest crime rate in the nation!
God bless Texas!

Call me crazy, but I've been listening to the 911 calls and trying to figure out the sequence of events. On one of the calls you can hear someone yelling for help. The cries for help were what prompted the 911 call, so we don't know how long they had been going on before the person called 911. From the time of the first cry for help heard on the tape to the sound of the gunshot is 28 seconds. (Count that out in your head.) If Zimmerman was being beaten by Trayvon as he alleges, he showed remarkable restraint before firing. (Just my opinion.) If someone cold-cocked me, and I still had my wits about me, I wouldn't wait for a second punch.

Maybe Mr. Zimmerman, thought and tried not to resort for deadly force for 28sec. That is he tried to fight Mr. Martin and appeared to not winning the fight nor able to escape Mr. Martin who is allegedly is on top of him for those 28 sec. It could be in fact in favor of Mr. GZ that he was patient before he resorted to deadly force.
