Omg I hated this so much when I was in the Marines. 'Supposubly' (supposedly), 'it would behoove of you' (it would behoove you), 'orientate' (orient), 'irregardless' (regardless), 'for all intensive purposes' (for all intents and purposes), 'upmost' (utmost), the list goes on.Jusme wrote:Great topic!!
I don't know of any sayings that really annoy me since most are so fashionably fleeting, but people who talk like they are on twitter, by using initials instead of words, i.e. BTW, OMG, etc really grate on my nerves. Also mispronouncing words, tends to make my me roll my eyes, particularly the word "supposedly" when it is pronounced " supposubly"
I may think of others and will list them if I do.

Re: Things and Sayings That Annoy!
A saying that really annoys me is the misuse of the word "Nazi" in reference to our current POTUS. Trump's daughter and her family are orthodox Jews. Therefore, Nazi references to Trump are incompatible with his family situation. The people that misuse the word Nazi have no idea what they are really saying. I lost family members to Nazis in WWII.
Another saying that really annoys me is misuse of the word "Hate" and its various conjugations. Especially, the phrase "Hate Speech". The 1st Amendment guarantees you have the right to free speech. However, the 1st Amendment does not guarantee that you will not be offended. Disagreements do not constitute "Hate Speech". I really wish these Liberals, SJWs and other ignorant people would learn to use a dictionary.

People who hold the elevator door while there are others in the elevator. They are making the choice to delay the folks in the elevator in order to save a few minutes for another person. While I understand the gesture, it's a bit pretentious of them to think they get to decide that person A's time is more valuable than person B.
Even worse, people who are getting on an elevator and hold the door while they finish their conversation with someone who isn't getting on the elevator.
Strangers who want to comment on my lunch choices as I am taking lunch back to my desk. Usually occurs in the elevator. "Oh, that smells good. What is it?"
I think I should just avoid elevators in general....
