Re: Texas Citizens Militia
So I know nothing about Texas Citizens Militia, and this is in no way a props or an endorsement.
That being said, I think militias' names have been spoiled by some of the bad apples. Our found fathers believed that they, along with the right to bear arms was the key to keeping an overbearing government in check. While I have great respect for the Texas National Guard, I fear they are too closely aligned with the national military. If the government ever becomes overbearingly abusive with its power and we find ourselves in that worst case scenario, I fear the TNG may very well be conscripted into the national forces and or abolished. Small well trained groups of individuals would be a plus. Not all Militia's are playing make believe. That would be more in line with the Mil-sim airsoft and paintball players do(which is alot of fun btw :) )
I have to ask what makes a "legal militia" ? It doesn't need to be legal, its an unalienable right granted by our creator and protected under the constitution.

emphasis added and info in the parens added by me in the above quote based on my understanding ... which could be wrong.JP171 wrote:The Texas State Guard (as opposed to "Texas National Guard") is the only legal "militia" in Texas, it takes almost anyone between the age of 17 and 70, it is under the Authority of the Adjutant General of Texas Major General Nichols it answers to the TAG and the Governor and cannot be federalized except within limited circumstances and only in time of emergency, cannot be deployed out of the country period, outside the state only with the governors SOF agreement with another state. The TCM is NOT a legal militia it may call itself anything it wants until it uses military rank structure and then it will be shut down, they have been playing this shhh game for 20 years and been watched very closely the whole time, they will make a mistake one day and get locked up. The group has already had several injunctions against what they are doing in the past. my advice is STAY AWAY, very far away

Re: Texas Citizens Militia
I've got no desire to join a militia of this sort, but if they aren't taking a seditious stance then it would seem they are engaged in constitutionally protected activity.

Re: Texas Citizens Militia
I will withhold my opinion on this issue as it is still a free Country, however, keep in mind that CIA agents are leaving explosives on school buses, FBI agents are getting caught up in lies (again), ATF donates guns to cartels, BLM agent's negligence causes a death of another American Citizen, Navy sailors get captured under some very bizarre circumstances and our Airforce leaflets ISIS barbarians instead of blowing them up.
We have a structure in place whereby everyone ought to just "follow the orders".
Nothing new I suppose, but our enemy has morphed and we better sight in on a right target instead shooting our own.
The level of our alphabet soup agencies ineptitude these days is so high that I would almost wager that "some" in these so called "militia" groups are just as, or more highly trained, then BO's non-merit based bureaucratic operatives, with some exceptions of course.
As far as our Governor/TAG, I have my opinions on them as well. Few months ago Mr.TAG allowed Syrian "migrants" to stay few clicks away from my town, about 30 miles from the Nuclear facility.
That's after he said he would NOT do so until FBI can validate them, which by Comey's own admission they cannot.
Look at our border. You think it's all BO's doing?
No my friends, dirty deeds are done dirt cheap on the back of the American Citizen and he is getting awfully ticked off.
And if you think that you are not being watched already, just reading this, well..

Re: Texas Citizens Militia
Those who feel that these "militias" are a bunch of great guys who get together and sing kumbuya around a camp fire need a reality check, just as those who feel these guys are running drugs and weapons to finance their take over of the United States. The truth is actually somewhere between the two.
Members of these "Militias" tend to cover a wide variety of folks, and I promise you that these groups have been infiltrated by everyone from the FBI, ATF, ect. to the Mexican Drug Cartels. I have heard of bird watchers joining similar groups for the opportunities to go places you normally wouldn't go by yourself. These groups also attract people who have a less than clean criminal record, and they also attract people who really want to do something good for their country/state. Essentially think of them as the Vato's MC club with Colts instead of Harley's. In my opinion these groups, and their membership, run a serious risk of being charged with organized criminal activity through simple association with people in their membership.

How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

ok your definition of TAG and mine are different, to clarify AG is Attorney General, TAG is Texas Adjutant General way different the TAG is NOT able to make determination on who gets to come to Texasparabelum wrote:I will withhold my opinion on this issue as it is still a free Country, however, keep in mind that CIA agents are leaving explosives on school buses, FBI agents are getting caught up in lies (again), ATF donates guns to cartels, BLM agent's negligence causes a death of another American Citizen, Navy sailors get captured under some very bizarre circumstances and our Airforce leaflets ISIS barbarians instead of blowing them up.

Actually no they aren't engaged in a constitutionally protected Militia, there are laws that define what is and what is NOT a legally established Militia and they ain't it
